Congratulations Paul. Great bird for the milestone.

Bufflehead Caernarfon
I was very pleased that I was working in North Wales when news of this beauty came out. End of the day light was lovely too.
Sorry I missed you today at Strumble, didn't realise you were there. I also missed the Greats, which must have been after I left.
Yesterday I went to a very dry Goldcliff to see this beauty. My first Willow Emerald. In the ditch, just past the humpback bridge.
It was a long drive to Suffolk today for two UK ticks. Black Stork at Boyton RSPB was good, but even better was Zitting Cisticola at Walberswick. My 400th UK bird (although I'm due to drop well below that number when the new Avilist comes into force).
"White head" for us in Wales
Rhoose Pools broke its already impressive record for (lack of) waterbird diversity on WEBS today, with just 2 species. But alongside the mallards & mutes were the resident anglers. Seven was about normal for the time of year, despite it being illegal and clearly signed as such across the site.
So sorry to hear this Stu. A lovely girl.
Booted Eagle
Went to Cornwall hoping to see an eagle fly overhead for a minute or two.
Yes, I suspected that. Looked familiar!
After having to cancel our trip to the Caribbean, a hastily arranged week in Tunisia. An overnight trip to the desert with tunisiabirdwatching.wordpress.com added some welcome and difficult lifers, including thick billed lark (video) fulvous babbler and african desert warbler
Six brent geese at the mouth of the Thaw at, er, Aberthaw. Wigeon and Common Gull in reasonable numbers too. #birdingwales
Tegwyn after spinal surgery
American wigeon showed well at Kenfig today. Not as warm as the Caribbean though, which is where I would be if a certain spaniel hadn't smashed one of his discs and needed emergency surgery. Thankfully recovering well, unlike my bank balance. #noinsurance #doh
Black-throated diver still wowing the crowds (me) at Barry Docks #birdingWales
Tegwyn is very proud of his ears
A near perfect mini-twitch today. Newport Sands for my 300th* Welsh bird, a White-Rumped Sand (ta to @peninsulabirds.bsky.social for location, and @phelpstoby.bsky.social for getting me on it before it flew upstream). No photo, so here's Tegwyn enjoying the beach afterwards.
