I’ve been through so many chapters of life with good and bad but those who are no longer part of it and no longer in my life, I have never forgot them.

We need to do more to support the LGBTQIA+ community as allies for sure and to my colleagues and my friends thank you for sharing your experiences with me and others to become better allies. I hope I am anyway!

Although I personally don’t identify myself as a LGBTQIA+ member, every time I do I mostly get emotional but it also makes me reflect on the wider world and how we aren’t inclusive.

i’ve lost count of the number of conversations i’ve had including on my podcast, blogs I’ve read, seeing messages etc from other members of the community and sometimes getting the opportunity in various meetings.

I’m lucky enough to have an incredible friend from the LGBTQIA + community along with just as incredible and amazing colleagues who I work with at NHSE who all have taught me so much about the personal challenges and barriers their communities face daily over the past few years.

Please do not work yourself into the ground because it’s just a job. It pays the bills but you need to enjoy yourself at the same time and work shouldn’t have to be the sole focus especially outside of working hours.

I’m not going to lie I quite like managing my own staff but this is something I always say to them as supporting me isn’t the only job they do.

One day isn’t going to change everything but together we will stop cancer for good I live in a world where the disease doesn’t exist.

Within the past few years, I have known people both within my professional and personal life that have had cancer and no matter who each of them were and their relationship to me, It still hits hard.

Today is World Cancer Day and thinking about what to dictate is harder than normal because I’m trying hard to fight back the tears.

The amount of paperwork you have to do for example direct payments/personal budgets, Access to Work grants and managing your own staff.

There is probably so much more but I can’t think of right now.

From the endless amount of appointments you have for your health or the various people involved in your care/support.

It’s actually true and I think many of you don’t realise the amount of work that goes in.
