Imogen, a younger transe woman standing by a brick wall wearing a white top and a trans pride flag draped over her shoulders, smiling at the camera.
IT'S #TransDayOfVisibility - a day to show support for our #trans and #nonbinary siblings.
In #LGBTHistoryMonth 2022 we heard how Grace found the courage to come out as trans in later life after seeing a #visiblytrans woman at #Pride: bit.ly/FromTerrorToJoy

An illustrated image in a cozy, book-filled room, showing a diverse group of six people of varied ages and ethnicities sitting and sharing tea around a circular wooden table. The group includes an older man with a grey beard and glasses, another elder man with glasses, a woman with braided hair who is seated in a wheelchair, a friend placing a supportive hand on the wheelchair user's shoulder, a young man taking notes in a spiral notepad, and another woman listening. The text content at the top of the image reads: "“Shame dies when stories are told in safe places.” - Ann Voskamp". In the centre of the table is the Open Table logo, a glowing, multi-colored circular design of interconnected stylized human figures. Rainbow-coloured light streams through the room, creating a rainbow spectrum pattern on the walls and table from a window showing a sunset. The background bookshelf holds numerous colourful books, some with titles like 'OUR HISTORY'.
'SHAME DIES when stories are told in safe places.' - Ann Voskamp

Day 28: Frida Kahlo 🎨
A legendary artist whose work rawly explored identity, pain, and gender. While often associated with Diego Rivera, her passionate affairs with women were pivotal to her life and art. An unapologetic icon of intersectional queer brilliance and resilience. #LGBTHistoryMonth
Bodily autonomy for all.

When Bishop Gene Robinson came to our festival he made a lasting impression on Dave, from our OUT team. “Hearing how the first openly gay bishop kept his cool and his faith in the midst of the storm of criticism and hostility from some parts of the church was eye-opening" #LGBTHistoryMonth
Day 27: Bea Arthur 🎭
A legendary ally and LGBTQ+ champion. Famous for The Golden Girls, she was a tireless advocate for queer youth. In her will, she left $300k to aliforneycenter, helping open the Bea Arthur Residence for homeless LGBTQ+ youth. A true icon on and off screen. ❤️ #LGBTHistoryMonth

'LOST VICTORIAN VOICES' in black text, surrounded by a repeating pattern of the symbol of Buckinghamshire in red, a swan a halved shield.
Six panels from the graphic novel, cropped. They depict a man describing the sentence of a sixteen year old, illustrating his transportation to Tasmania.

Day 26: Bayard Rustin✊🏾
The brilliant strategist behind the 1963 March on Washington. A gay Black man who advised MLK Jr., Rustin lived at the intersection of civil rights and LGBTQ+ equality. He proved that no one is free until we are all free. A visionary of non-violent protest.🏳️🌈 #LGBTHistoryMonth

A graphic with speech bubbles which say, "I learned a lot about the situation I was in and the way I was dealing with it." "It was nice to have an opportunity to talk about my experiences and to listen to the experiences of others." "Finally I was opening myself up to someone and I felt comfortable being surrounded by people with similar experiences." and "I’m just thankful there is an LGBTQ+ program where I could freely speak and be listened to. An LGBTQ+ program is much needed. Thank you!" There are logos for Calan DVS, the Myriad programme, Respect and LGBT+ History Month.
