So I made quilted Post-it’s that are stuck on the front of the quilted files as if they were sitting on Stephen Miller or Pam Bondi’s desk as they plan their distractions. Sadly for every Post it I made I probably could have made 2 more on different topics.

There are so many things to be infuriated about right now that I couldn’t pick just one to rage stitch. All of these events are horrifying and they’re also all distractions from the Epstein Files, which still haven’t been released in full. More info in comments.

Bad Bunny’s closing messages during his Super Bowl performance:
“The only thing more powerful than hate is love”
“Together, we are America”

Here are image quilts of all of the PDFs from today's DOJ Epstein document dump. Four volumes, 8,408 pages of photos, receipts, and documents. 10,000 foot view of some dark, disturbing content.
A quilt designed to look like a sheet of notebook paper is laid out on green grass. It features large, bold embroidered text that reads: “THIS IS THE PART OF HISTORY THAT MAKES SCHOOL KIDS ASK WHY DIDN’T ANYONE DO ANYTHING TO STOP THEM?” The words “PART OF HISTORY” are in blue, while the final four lines, beginning with “WHY DIDN’T,” are in red, emphasizing urgency and alarm. The rest of the text is in black.
Don’t know that I need to say anything more about this.

A small quilt lying on a wood surface. It has a black background with the word “RESIST” in large block letters in the pattern of an upside down American flag.
A note from the maker. The text reads: “Dear United States, I love you—and the anti-monarchy, freedom-rooted ideals you were built on. But you’re broken. Maybe you always have been. Still, I believe those ideals aren’t beyond repair, no matter how deeply they’re being twisted by the billionaire and millionaire fascists currently in power. Because I still have hope, I’m not backing down. I’ll keep fighting, resisting, and pushing until every one of us is safe and free. And when I say all, I mean ALL: our LGBTQIA+ family, our Black and Brown communities, our undocumented neighbors, our childless cat ladies (hi, that’s me). Every. Single. One of us. We all deserve safety, dignity, and liberation. So I hope you’re ready—because this is a fight for your life. And I, along with millions of others, am not giving up. With resistance and love, A resistance quilter from your heartland”
This years 4th of July resistance mini quilt and the note I wrote that accompanies it.
Thank you for helping organize!!!
A person holding a quilted sign at the no kings protest in St. Paul, MN. The sign says “Make Orwell & Atwood Fiction Again” in red letters and features the covers of the books 1984 and The Handmaids Tale.
So proud of Minnesota for showing up at the No Kings rallies across the state while a politically motivated assassin was on the loose. This is me at the rally in St. Paul with my newest quilted sign.

Yes we are!!🙂
Got into some good trouble yesterday at the #handsoff protest here in St. Paul! And of course I had to make a quilt sign! I’m calling this one “2025 Required Reading”

Accountability post! When my “I Dissent” quilt sold at Quiltcon I committed to donating all the funds I received for it to non-profits dedicated to supporting LGBTQ & particularly trans youth. I’m happy to say that I received $276.25 from the MQG & today I donated $310 to 3 different organizations.
Last nights activity. Just because I’m now a blue dot in a blue state with almost all democratic representation doesn’t mean I can be complacent. There’s lots of work still to do.
And as much as I love Texas, so grateful to be here now.

Depressing to think that presidential administrations are 208 weeks long and were only 2.5 weeks into this one. I’ve got a laundry list of things I’m doing to fight back and to make it sustainable in the long run. What are you doing? My list is in the comments.
Taking a break from doing therapeutic sewing this evening to start reading this book. Made a bunch of phone calls at lunch today and signed up to volunteer with my local DFL precinct starting with next week’s monthly meeting.
What are you doing to get through this week?
Trying to find fun things to look forward to and it’s only 23 days until pitchers and catchers report for Spring Training. Time to get cracking and finish my Astros quilt! Especially since it’ll still be wicked cold up here then. #quiltsky #therapeuticquilting
No other words needed (although I have a lot more to say).
I Dissent. 2024.
Made by me with letters from @carolynfriedlander.
See it in person at Quiltcon 2025 in Phoenix.
Now let’s fight like hell for our country.

It’s Wednesday, so let’s share a quilt. Here’s a throwback to X-Factor, made in 2022.
Happy to say that she’ll be hanging in the negative space category at Quiltcon 2025 in Phoenix next month.

UPDATE: FOUND AND DELIVERED!!! Whew!
This is lovely!
And honestly, I support the MQG’s choice not to include AirTags for the safety and security of their staff. People will always be more valuable than quilts. And at the end of the day, this is a failing of UPS. Depending on where the box is lost, a tracker may not be of help anyway. :/
Yeah, I think there are at least 3 of us. :(
