Nicola Willis is making up shit about the shape of the books, using tobacco tax to pay for tax cuts to landlords is just the start, they'll demonise smokers to sell this too, then gambling seems obvious. Next we'll see the privatisation of prisons and social welfare. Scary times #NZPol

The Labour policies that face being scrapped under National Which of Labour's policies from the past six years are facing the axe?

Putting the rights of minorities to a referendum is bad.

A lot of people treat rights as a zero sum game, so often the majority will vote against the interests of the minority because they think that increased rights and protections for minorities means fewer for them.

I will fight that so hard.

a thread on hellsite i’m navigating here

The story about “40 babies beheaded by Hamas” has, for at least 2 days, shifted from fact to unverified to fact to unverified to fact, causing any new updates to further inflame skepticism and confusion.

I'm really pissed that Craig Rennie has pretty much had to do the media's job of analysing party policies.

Analysis has now shown that if you are under 44, you will be far worse off under National.

Why were all of the critiques done by a union economist?

Why does the media just parrot shit?

#NZPol The hardest working person this election was Craig Renney. Without him we would not know how little the foreign buyers would bring in to cover Nats tax cut cost and that the much lauded $250 tax cut would only go to 3000 families

Nats-ACT-NZF is poised to bring in the highest-doofus government in the history of this nation, a ridiculous proportion of spanner-brained cockfellows, venomous undercants, and fully dazed bassoons. Parliament buildings will fold themselves inwards from the cringe of it. #nzpol

Couldn't GAF if Hipkins has health insurance personally, but I absolutely GAF Luxon wants to balance his tax cuts on the back of benes, the elderly, the disabled who need the public health sys the most, only keeping up current spend, when it needs far more, while giving landlords *millions*.

Okay, so as Air NZ CEO, Luxon banned uniformed crew having visible tattoos (racist), canned the Pink Pride flight (homophobic), vetoed a safety ad because dinosaurs aren't real (fundy), and biffed the Air NZ wine awards because he doesn't drink (tedious & patronising)
