I’m late, but I love Halloween and this was it for 2025. Was not feeling very inspired this year though.

The boss is busy with Ruby Star Society’s new Geometry line and we LOVE IT! Looks like faceted jewels. 😍

This is going to be a gorgeous modern quilt! #quiltsky

Do y’all love the Ruby Star collections? Those were our favorites. At the shop where I work, there are a few diehards, including me, but my friend who doesn’t normally love as much as me was really happy with them!

Primary fabric is Glow Garden from Sarah Watts of Ruby Star Society (GA artist!). Accent fabric is Speckled by Rashida Coleman-Hale of Ruby Star Society. I just love their style so much.

A quilt top with a variety of fabrics, prints including skating rink-inspired colors and nature themes with a dark berry colored and speckled accent fabric. The quilt is laying on a quilt frame, prepared for longarm quilting.

Oh hey, I made this. My friend is adding the binding today because I finished making this quilt top a month after the fabric arrived 🤣 oops.

It’ll be displayed at Sew Senoia in Fayetteville, Ga next week!

A portrait of the author on a rock. And a reminder of my post-apoc, environmental, queer family story.

I never read it except as an adult, and I remember thinking that it would have been a great read as a teen. But I was probably 30 when I finally read it.

The good thing about not having a close circle of friends is that I have a lot more time to read and sew some quilts and other projects.

Exciting Saturday over here… studying for an upcoming mystery quilt program so I can make the sample. I’m happy about the sample, not excited about the studying.

It seems like I try to break a toe or something foot related about once every 10 years. Fingers crossed I didn’t break the bones above my big toe tonight 🤣

I saw it at a craft show last week - it was amazing watching it with 200 or so quilters! I hope everyone watches.

How are we doing with this whole work, live, play, and watching idiots run the US every day?

While I am frustrated, I have to keep hoping that the teensy steps taken each day are getting me somewhere. Somewhere better, and I hope for more than just myself.

What’s on the quilter today? 😍
When I first saw this quilt, I was in love. Kennedy did a beautiful job on this one!
Let me know if you’d like to be featured on #otqt (on the quilter today)! Or I’ll ask for forgiveness later because we can’t help but want to share these lovely quilts. 🤣

In the spirit of @dailybeanspod.bsky.social “good trouble” and leaning into art as resistance, I’d like to recommend creating for your people who are at center of the existential dread spiral. (I’m a self taught quilter so if you have any questions about the pattern please ask!) 🧵 1/2

If you’re in an institution doing any kind of DEI work, the most important thing to do right now is simply call it something else. Change it to “Community Outreach” & then keep on doing the same important work. When they outlaw Community Outreach rebrand it as “Strategic Partnerships,” rinse/repeat.
