From space, where borders disappear, it becomes clear that we are all neighbors.

On this day in 2003, we lost the crew of Space Shuttle Columbia. As a new astronaut at the time, I admired not only their dedication to space exploration but their incredible character & kindness. They were truly good human beings, & their legacy continues to inspire us all.
Forever in our hearts.

39 years ago, we lost the Challenger crew. As a sophomore in high school dreaming of becoming an astronaut, I watched in shock and sorrow, but also with deep admiration for their courage. Their bravery still inspires me to dream big. We honor their legacy today. #Challenger #NeverForget

3 years ago, I launched my first fabric collection, Earth Views - a dream project inspired by the breathtaking perspective of our planet from space. Designing the collection was such a joy, and seeing what others have created with the fabrics has been even more incredible.

I’m married to fellow astronaut Doug Hurley, we have a 14-year-old son & two goofy Labradors. A couple of years ago, we moved to the Utah mountains, where I love being outdoors, especially trail running.

Excited to connect here!

I draw inspiration for my art and quilting from my family and my unique experiences in space.

My space adventures also deepened my appreciation for our beautiful planet and the importance of caring for it and all its inhabitants. 🌏

Hi Bluesky, I’m new here! 🌟

About me: I had an incredible 20-year career as an astronaut, including 2 trips to space and 180 days living and working on the ISS. After retiring from NASA in 2020, I shifted my focus to my passion for textile arts & quilting.
