the other day I went to a place where they teach japanese because they have a japanese library open to the public and I spoke to the people there and they ended up printing a test for me that I can bring back for correction and today I did the test and it was so much fun!!!! why do i love tests

TIL that Japanese has two more words for 🐧 'penguin' than the English loanword ペンギン (pengin). The first 🐧 is 人鳥 which roughly translates to "human bird". It kinda makes sense I guess. The second 🐧 is 企鵝 which roughly means something way funnier: "scheming goose". 🤣
