Many think the military War Pension Scheme is dead as it only affects those injured before 6 April 2005

But, of the 20 First Tier Tribunal hearings taking place this week, 85% are War Pension cases (as opposed to Armed Forces Compensation Scheme cases)

Meet Leonie, recently called to the Bar. Kicked out of school at 15 & told she’d make nothing of her life. Grew up around domestic violence and addiction, and became the primary carer for her 11-year-old sister.

Went back to school, became deputy head girl, studied law, now a barrister. Yes girl 🙌🏻

David's Story- David gave up his secure housing tenancy to care full‑time for his terminally ill partner during their final months. After his partner passed away, David was left alone in a one‑bedroom home he thought he’d lose. Facing possession proceedings and terrified of becoming homeless, he didn’t know where to turn.
When David went to a specialist legal advice service we fund, he was exhausted and overwhelmed. The service acted immediately and reviewed his situation, uncovering a possible succession claim, and made sure he was urgently referred for legal aid representation so he wouldn’t have to fight the eviction alone.
The case was taken on for court action, protecting David’s place in the home he had shared with the person he loved. With early intervention, he kept his home and was protected from losing everything at a moment of deep grief and vulnerability.

- Better quality food
- Clothes that aren't completely worn out
- Going on the school trip without getting into debt
- A new mattress
- Swimming lessons
