My first language was BASIC on the IBM PC and the Atari 800.
Peek/Poke/etc made sense to me and I loved it.
I loved 6502 ASM programming.
Later on I used Visual Basic and VB.net professionally.
My company moved on to C# with lowlevel systems in C++.
