Really enjoyed this BBC documentary about Loaded magazine — great soundtrack throughout too. youtu.be/wjEL30lOvZo?...

I find myself recently really enjoying chatting with Gemini after I watch a movie — discovering aspects of the film, how it links to other films (or creators), ideas on other things to watch, etc.
The W.S. Anderson film I was most looking forward to revisiting was Event Horizon, and happily, I was not disappointed. Still a really great watch, and interestingly, it got me thinking a lot about The Black Hole. boxd.it/e3fYBZ #filmsky
Next up was of course the original Mortal Kombat, and yeah, it’s pretty cheesy, and the effects haven’t aged well (especially the CG stuff). Don’t regret watching it though, and Johnny Cage is pretty fun. boxd.it/e3fTXh #filmsky
I have just discovered Brass Eye (cult UK comedy series from the 90s) and… oh my. youtu.be/pQCrcAFuI-E?...
I need one of these. youtu.be/1SQvXnKrJpg?...
This is wonderful.
After listening to an interview with Paul W.S. Anderson recently (on the Post Games podcast), it put me in the mood to revisit a few of this films, and decided to start with his debut, Shopping, which I don’t think I’d seen before. boxd.it/e376pJ #filmsky
This is probably my favorite PTA film.
This is my favorite thing right now (30-minute Wu Tang x James Bond mix). youtu.be/HIUlLBImgH8?...
I watched Wall Street because of the new “Corporate Thrillers” collection on the Criterion Channel, and I’m glad I did — just as good and engaging as I remembered it being, terrific portrayal of that era. boxd.it/e1pUw9 #filmsky
I was always planning on finishing my Friedkin marathon with Killer Joe, and wow, what a perfect way to end it. Friedkin in full nihilistic mode, with one of the wildest endings I’ve ever seen. boxd.it/e1pbWh #filmsky
I also find it interesting that it’s set in the year 1998, which was when I moved to Tokyo.
Eren the Southpaw I’m a bit unsure of after just one episode, but I’m interested enough to see where it goes next to watch more. It’s about a high school kid who wants to be a graphic designer, but also gets interested in graffiti.
Based on the first episode, I’m absolutely loving Nippon Sangoku. The intro is so well done (explaining the setting), and I’m really digging the art direction, and general vibe — there’s a kind of weird fun/wild side to it. Looking forward to more episodes.
The new spring anime season has started, and although I couldn’t find much I wanted to watch, I have checked out two series for now.
Of my current Friedkin run, this is probably the film of his I’ve enjoyed the least (even less than Jade). A lot of it just feels off, especially that Del Toro performance. boxd.it/e14uAx #filmsky
This is my absolute favorite of all the Friedkin films I’ve been watching recently.
A boy and his duck.
Holy shit, that’s one of the most awkward things I’ve ever seen 😂
Oh, need to watch this.
But I’m OK, I hear the battle cry.
Kenny Omega made me cry (literally).
My FOTO5 for the week, following the theme “Street Rhythms.”
Wow!
And the outtakes videos they release for the seasons are just as funny if not more.
I’ve immediately become a fan of this illustrator.
Taskmaster may very well be my favourite television series of all time — and to think I still have 18 seasons to watch (I started with season 19).
Yes, Pizza Movie is a stoner comedy, incredibly silly, and really quite funny. I had loads of fun watching it. boxd.it/dWvJ7T #filmsky
