And thatâs your prerogative! Thanks for listening.

All we ask is that they not call it Bean ClubÂź. Thatâs a unique Rancho Gordo thing.
We encourage other agricultural growers, including bean growers, to start their own subscription boxes or Community Supported Agriculture partnerships. Many of our employees belong to CSAs, and Rancho Gordo even supplies beans to some in the winter when harvests are low.
In 2013, there was nothing like Bean Club available. There still isn't. It's not a simple subscription service. It really is a community with an active private Facebook group, dinners, Town Hall meetings, and even trips. It's always been unique and it's always been Rancho Gordo.
Only one Cease and Desist order was issued, after numerous friendly requests that were ignored.
We had created something really great and relatively small. Weâre not trying to rule the world, but I want to protect the little corner we have. So we trademarked Bean Club, and the US Government granted it.
What wasnât clear in the San Francisco Chronicle article is that the company involved in this is a disgruntled former customer. We stopped selling to them because we felt they were copying Bean Club's success and taking it to an unreasonable degree.
Don't regret the years you've wasted hating lima beans. Make up for lost time by discovering all the different, worthwhile varieties. If you haven't tried our green baby limas, now is the time. Thin-skinned and delicate, they are perfect for spring cooking.

Just now realized that I failed to commemorate the first birthday of my bean blog! A year and a few days ago, I made my first post: beantips.com/how-to-cook-... Got some exciting (yes, that seems weird, but really) bean tips coming in year two!

Yes, it's probably true.
I like to make an entrance and this tune is my perfect overture.
I'll try and share my whole playlist if I can figure out how to do it.
JPF MEMBER THURSDAY: Weâve got OG Bean Club legend Steve Sando @rancho_gordo for todayâs Video Recipe Book! He riffs on a gratin recipe from Jacquesâ cookbook Fast Food My Way to create a Bean and Egg Pudding using his Cassoulet (Tarbais) beans.

I've been a serious gym-goer since November. I still find the aesthetic off but I have this on my earbuds as I enter the workout room. I wish there were someway I could make the others know this is what I hear as I enter and see them working out.

We were attending a brutal trade show and ran into the Minnow people and it was like visiting an oasis. Among all the noise and crap, here was an amazing small collection of tinned fish. Turns out they were Rancho Gordo people and we love them back.
Happy accident!
We discovered in our test kitchen that our Pardina lentils are a great match for @minnowworld's smoked trout. Horseradish and dill are optional, but they add a nice kick.

Our Christmas Limas change hearts and minds for people who think they don't like lima beans.
My @ranchogordo.bsky.social recipe today is using Domingo Rojo beans in a variation of this Vegan Richa stew

Non sequitur Sunday:
Maybe the last of the rains, enjoyed this morning at Jack London State Park in Glen Ellen.
This place never fails
She was working closely with Mark Miller of coyote Café at the time. They were revolutionary.
Mark arranged dinner for us once and we had a swell time. I tried to convince her to grow again, but there was no interest.
Honoring her is absolutely no disrespect to me! I am a tourist in comparison.
It's been a very long winter.
We can say so many trite, cliched things about spring, but you know what? They're all true and remarkable.
To celebrate, we have new beans, old favorites, and recipes inspired by the season.
Visit www.ranchogordo.com now.
Steve still likes citrus zest and now he has some advice on what to buy.
This was a day for the books! The mayor, our congressman, the Bean Freaks, the music, the food, the community, but most of all, BEANS.
The beans have arrived home.
Beans have arrived on Main Street!
Please come visit.

Of course! You are among your people.
I'm with you. I have a vague idea that it's something stupid people think is negative.
These kids today with their rock and roll music!
Yes, someone suggested it and it does.
THANK YOU!
Thank you!
Of course I am an old and I can't figure out how to add an emoji if it's not offered on my keyboard!
