But I haven't seen the job postings, just some of the recruitment text, so I may be mistaken.

If the jobs are on USAJobs, they're likely Federal employment under an NTE (Not to Exceed [some term]) appointment, rather than working for a contractor. That's become common in government for many technology jobs; 18F, the disbanded digital transformation office in GSA, often used 5-year NTEs.
I think it's an IT recruiting campaign.
Congratulations!
If anyone knows any excellent and experienced data engineers who would be excited by a Richmond-based job in the cultural heritage sector, have them get in touch.
Earthset captured through the Orion spacecraft window at 6:41 p.m. EDT, April 6, 2026, during the Artemis II crew’s flyby of the Moon. A muted blue Earth with bright white clouds sets behind the cratered lunar surface. The dark portion of Earth is experiencing nighttime. On Earth’s day side, swirling clouds are visible over the Australia and Oceania region. In the foreground, Ohm crater has terraced edges and a flat floor interrupted by central peaks. Central peaks form in complex craters when the lunar surface, liquefied on impact, splashes upwards during the crater’s formation. [alt text from NASA]
#Artemis II lunar flyby images are showing up! 😍

We @pelagios.bsky.social are looking to evolve Peripleo, a browser-based tool for the mapping of things related to place github.com/britishlibra..., to make it easier to use by historians and archaeologists as a research tool. Let me know if you're interested.
Underrated post.
Writing people! I’m putting together ideas for an AWP panel pitch and I’m looking to connect with other rural writers.
Note: I do NOT mean “I live 45 min from Big City” I mean “I’m out in the sticks and it takes real effort and planning to get to anywhere”
Folks, the #PleiadesGazetteer has been nominated for the annual DH awards in the "dataset or model" category. There are, as always, many fantastic and important projects. If you use or have otherwise benefited from Pleiades, I hope you will consider voting for it: docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1F...
Happy 2068th birthday to Publius Ovidius Naso (Ovid to you) author of reams of elegy as well as the epic compendium Metamorphoses, in which Greco-Roman mythology is characterised as capricious gods turning things into people and people into things. Born #onthisday in 43 BCE.
And this is my morning this morning, but somewhere else.

I propose to make universal the old policy of the Blackfriars conference at the American Shakespeare Center:
If you do not end your paper on time, you will be forced to exit, pursued by a bear. Literally, a bear will come take your paper from you.

I gave a presentation on Digital Humanities and Ancient History this afternoon. My slides (which I didn't get all the way through, because I only had two hours [including lots of discussion], not four!) are here: tinyurl.com/DHandAH2026
