Hey yall! I'm just finishing up with a big move and I'm looking to recoup the cost a bit so I'm opening up some model comms to help soften the blow a bit. If any of yall are interested, feel free to reach out.
The late great Bob McKnight's artwork is at risk of being seized and destroyed if something isn't done about it. His dearest friend and mentee Rob Griggs has set up a GoFundMe to help save his property, including his extensive art archives. Bob LOVED animation and it's history, help preserve it!
YT is just never going to be a safe haven for indie animators unless there's some program specific designed to help them (and I wouldn't trust YT with that).
It's nice to see indie content is "preferred," but this report is still just a double-edged sword.
Zeurel, the creator of Monkey Wrench, is completely transparent about the fact that funding for his show is insanely difficult given how YT distributes money.
Most indie animation projects can't really survive on YT outside some very specific exceptions or people *just* doing animated pilots.
This report feels insanely skewed given that most of this is likely due to the success of GLITCH-related shows.
Indie showrunners/animators have universally suffered on YT as a platform. People's preferences for indie does not mean indie animation as a whole is suddenly doing better.

I seriously don't know what's up with bsky accounts half the time. I noticed most times I tag my art with #artistonbsky I end up getting really weird likes such as this one. Zero clue if there's some system with tags I'm not aware of that allows weird interactions like this, but it happens A LOT.

It's absolutely wild to me how much better my art reception has been on Bsky, NGs and Tumblr compared to Twitter.
It sucks that I sank so much time into that hellsite, but I'm glad to be on platforms now where people ACTUALLY get to see what I'm making. Fighting for relevancy was never "fun."
