We looked around a boys school that was moving to co-ed. I asked about the impact of girls coming, they said they hoped the girls would help calm the boys' behaviour. My daughter said afterwards she's not there to deal with badly behaved boys, and she wasn't choosing it as an option. 🩷

This Reform leaflet from three Gateshead candidates looks like a timelapse of the same person
Late to this but maybe. The yoga place in Stirchley runs/manages a WhatsApp group that go various places in the West Mids so perhaps infiltrate that. I think it's noted on their website.
Slight warning is that the moths absolutely love it. My mum brought me some back from NZ and it has needed a few repairs. But it is lovely.
I pay good money to do this for an hour each month in a sound bath. At home a cat will land on me within 30 seconds.
We want the media and politicians to recognise that there is a large number of women who are supportive of the trans+ community. We call on them to report truthfully about the sources of violence against women and to address the systems that perpetuate harm. notinourname.org.uk/petition/not...

I knew it was a trilogy but I also don't like seeing the film before I've read the book. I'd only read the 1st book for prep so I was the idiot saying what Boromir's dead!!!
The Greens now have nearly 200 more councillors than Reform.
This is not something you'd be likely to guess from all the copiously salivating media coverage of Farage & his crew of billionaire-backed far-right chancers.
@jsecker.bsky.social claims Librarians are the most innovative teachers! I agree, we are always trying to prove we are worthy in the ‘teaching space,’ owning our teaching status and being as creative and innovative as we can. #LILAC25
My mum's cat came with the given name Rosie and she formalised it up to Rose "as she's a big grown up cat now".
Wow. it must feel terrible when someone takes something you made and uses it without permission or payment
I've spent the last few hours doing a bit of a revamp on the Library Conferences on BlueSky page. This included finding details of upcoming (& previous) conferences that I wasn't already aware of, updating the description at the top of the page and reorganising it so that 2025 events are at the top.

The way he says see a bailiff makes it sounds like it's a 19th century visit to bedlam to see the insane.
Oh I'd forgotten the word of the year I used to do. I like yours, I may go for something similar.
Year Walking Many countries have a living folk tradition of being able to see into the future at certain times of the year. In Sweden, it is known as Årslång – year walking – and it is practised at Christmas and New Year’s Eve depending on the village. Practitioners are said to go into a deep trance where they encounter various supernatural beings who will challenge them with riddles and tasks. If successfully completed, the beings will then allow a glimpse of events that will happen in the coming year. Strangely, the cunning folk of Hookland also use the term year walking for some forms of divination. Whether it is fairly safe to dismiss some folklorists claims that the shared names shows that the Hookland type of omen walking has clear ties to the Swedish via Danish invasions is a matter I shall not decide. There are both signifiant similarities and differences between the same named practice. For a start, year walking in Hookland is not restricted to Christmas and New Year’s Eve – dates far too arbitrary, far too tied to calendar convenience for the county’s cunning folk. The practice is also undertaken at the quarter days and other old festivals such as St. Lazarus Eve when the worlds of the living and the dead are known to rub against each other. As in the Swedish form, the person year walking may go into a deep trance. This is often brought about by fasting and gazing at a ritual flame. While in this sublime state, the year walker may encounter spirits of the dead, Faery or the land itself. If they can prove themselves worthy, they may walk into the coming future of themselves, another or even their whole community. However, in contrast to the Swedish version, Hookland year walking more often involves the actual feet. Practitioners will usually make a midnight pilgrimage to some distant sacred spot with an expectation of meeting any supernatural beings in the flesh rather than the fancy.
What the cunning folk of Hookland do on #NewYearsEve - year-walking. May your troubles not cross the threshold of midnight. May blessings walk down the lane to meet you in the coming year.
As a former governor you definitely should if it happens again. We'd have taken it very seriously and asked a lot of general qns to help improve processes that we otherwise wouldn't see as non parents.
When looking at schools someone wise told me to ask how many emails they send a day and base a choice purely on that. I naively thought I'd get one a week at most. How wrong I was! Should have listened to the advice given.
I am enjoying bluesky scrolling and seeing faces I recognise but after 3+ years away from social media I'm really struggling to remember to post. Either nothing of use to say or out of practice. Or both.
When I explained milk bottles to the girl she said, mummy did you live in the olden days 💀. Now she says OMG stop living in the 1900s.
Finally got round to re-emerging on social media after deleting my twitter 3 years ago. So off on a following spree after an incredible #LILAC24
