The 2nd Ranger Infantry Company was one of the most extraordinary — and most erased — units of the Korean War.
Their story deserves to be known. Their names deserve to be spoken. Their service deserves to be honored.🪖🇺🇲

didn’t just belong in elite units — they excelled in them. The 2nd Ranger Infantry Company stands as a reminder of Black excellence, military courage, and the contradictions of a segregated Army fighting for “freedom” abroad. (cont)

stripped of their Ranger identity, and often pushed back into segregated support roles. Their legacy was buried for decades. The Korean War is already under‑taught — and Black heroism within it even more so. But the 2nd Rangers proved something undeniable: Black soldiers (cont)
One historian described their status perfectly:
“Elite, but expendable.”
The Army wanted their skill — but not their equality. In Aug 1951, the Army disbanded all Ranger companies. For the 2nd Rangers, the blow was deeper:
They were scattered into White units, (cont)
excelled, racism followed them into the field.
White units refused to share supplies.
They were assigned the most dangerous missions to “test” them. Of course, they were expected to fail- but didn't. Their successes were often credited to white officers or other units. (cont)
They also ran deep‑penetration raids across the Han River — stealth missions targeting supply depots, patrol bases, and communication lines.
These were the kinds of missions only the most disciplined units were trusted with. But even as they (cont)

Then came the brutal assaults on Hill 581 and Hill 545. Night raids. Steep terrain. Entrenched Chinese forces.
The 2nd Rangers took the hills, held them, and repelled counterattacks — suffering heavy casualties but never breaking. (cont)

Operation Tomahawk (March 1951) — one of the largest airborne drops of the war.
The 2nd Rangers jumped behind enemy lines, secured drop zones, cleared resistance, and protected artillery routes.
Commanders later admitted: they were flawless under chaos. (cont)
Despite their skill, instructors questioned whether Black soldiers “belonged” in elite units. The 2nd Rangers responded the only way they could: they outperformed expectations at every turn.
Black servicemen always rose to the occasion—ALWAYS! (cont)

Make no mistake: these men weren’t an “experiment.”
They were already some of the best paratroopers in the 82nd and 11th Airborne.
They passed the same brutal Ranger training at Fort Benning — often under harsher scrutiny. (cont)

They were activated in Oct 1950, after the Army realized it needed more Rangers… but still resisted integrating them. So instead of mixing Black soldiers into White units, they created a separate Black Ranger company.
Of course they did.🙄 (cont)

🧵 The 2nd Ranger Infantry Company was the only all‑Black Ranger unit in U.S. history. They fought two battles at once: the enemy in Korea — and racism in their own Army. (cont)

Makes sense. It’s baked into our country’s history and whites don’t want to acknowledge/do the work to change it. They’d rather complain that they’re not privileged because their lives have been soooooo hard. 🙄
All the far-leftists are mad at him in the comments.
And not because he’s wrong — he’s not.
It’s because he’s publicly shedding light on them and their choices — in MICHIGAN of all places, and letting the public know that they WANTED THIS — to throw the Party under the bus and elevate their own!

Those aren’t progressive speech as much as work arounds to not get flagged on social media.
I regret to inform you that the What Democrats Must Do Is Stop Using Funny Words caucus is at it again.
I thank my lucky stars regularly that I happened to be born to a very independent woman who didn’t see the need (want, yes) for a man in her life because she figured out how to do/buy/hire what she needed done. A man was considered nice for companionship, not necessary to life.

I wish she’d be charged with false reporting. Maybe a criminal record will convince some of these horrible people to stop.
I’m so sorry. Yes, white women know exactly what they are doing. They are taught to weaponize the patriarchy to get their way or simply because it makes them feel superior. I don’t understand why they like doing this 🐂 💩. I wish I did; maybe we could eradicate it.
3/3 You all know what white privilege is and you know how to use it to your advantage and tonight proves it. You know can get us killed with your bullshit. Luckily, I had all of my necessary paperwork and the cops gave me time to show said paperwork. But stop staying white privilege doesn't exist.
2/? One thing I get sick of some white people doing is claiming that they don't know what they are doing. I will never forget that smug look on her face when she called the police. That look said she knew the power she had even though on paper (white paper) I held a higher position.
1/? I had a white woman call the police on me tonight because she could. I can't go into details because this is connected to my job. But this woman was 1000% in the wrong and yet still felt empowered to call the police on me. It's 3 AM and I have had to write two emails to higher ups to explain.
I love him so much!
Just figured I would drop this 👇 from the amazing @joshjohnsoncomedy.bsky.social here.
Wrong. As long as there are bitter ass white folks mad that they peaked in high school & that women don’t want them he will have an audience.
