It's not hard to imagine why an expedition team needs a captain. Not only that but also a cartographer, a scholar, and a quartermaster. These are all roles each party member can focus on to add a layer of immersion to the table.

TTRPG hot take: your adventuring party should have a leader.

Not someone that gives orders to the party, but one that listens to everyone to sets the goals and priorities and keeps the adventure moving forward.

A tangent, the Navajo are reappropriating Star Wars. Some really cool art is coming out of that scene. Here’s a poster I saw a couple years ago in Arizona promoting a screening dubbed into Navajo. Leia’s hair is traditional. So is their story of twins that bring balance to the cosmos.
