If a dude wears this to a date you can legally punch him in the face.
A train stop sign that reads Oregon City with trees and an empty parking lot behind it
Doesn't seem to be much of a city here. ๐
Here's your latest roundup of news & arts from across #Cascadia, written while riding the Amtrak Cascades from Eugene to Seattle. ๐ โ๏ธ www.cascadia-journal.com/cascadia-tod...
A variety of punk stickers on a counter including one that says antifa was here, antifa is everywhere
Chalk in front of a gated federal building that reads the people will win
An old graveyard in an old growth forest

"Itโs also evident that Trump wanted to come back into office in part to revenge himself on a country that in 2020 had rejected him, the way an ex-partner sometimes becomes a murderous stalker of the woman who dared to escape him." www.theguardian.com/commentisfre...
I've decided I can't support a $1.5 trillion military budget and US fascism. I'm joining the #taxstrike and withholding a portion of my federal taxes.
KUOW is reaching back to find failed council candidates from the 2017 and 2019 election cycles to come on Week in Review rather than inviting on journalists on who are actually familiar with what's actually happening at city hall right now.
Handed out 100 flyers on this gloriously sunny day
A man in a shirt with a crow on it stands next to a table with flyers and a Cascadia Doug flag
Turns out Eugene really likes the idea of #Cascadia
Right?? I would have headed right there had I known!
Set up a table with info on @cascadiademocratic.bsky.social at Eugene's farmers market, a staff member asks if I've paid for that spot. After telling her no, she says: "Oh you have to set up across the the street at The Anarchist Market." ๐
Though I disagreed with many of Joel Connelly's political views late in his life, I always admired that his reporting paid attention to politics and environmental issues north of the WA-BC border. #Cascadia
I am no longer a pupuseria virgin.
I'm in Portland, and decided to reflect on the city's successful pushback against ICE -- an effort built by folks in chicken suits, everyday neighbors, activists, and attorneys. www.cascadia-journal.com/portlands-ef...
I happened to see this game at a dive bar in Portland and it was a work of art, a study in how to methodically come from behind and snatch victory in the final moments.
The Portland ICE facility is a little fascist fortress in a quiet, peaceful city.
What are folks saying about resources for victims of police violence? Theyโre saying its time to do the right thing and listen to those most impacted and create permanent resources for victims of police violence and their families.

The felony trial of the #Spokane9 protesters moves forward, learning to coexist with beavers in Oregon, and a Seattle sumo wrestling club. This and more news from across #Cascadia in today's newsletter: www.cascadia-journal.com/cascadia-tod...
Really solid advice about info security and resistance. Worth watching!
This is a trial in the #PNW to keep an eye on. It's another key case designed to criminalize dissent under the Trump regime.
Today in news from across #Cascadia, feds propose $400 million cut to Hanford cleanup, Seattle to make lakeside road car-free on summer weekends & fatal fungus is killing bats in the #PNW: www.cascadia-journal.com/cascadia-tod...
Instead, let's pit light rail against freeway repairs and expansion! Transit versus climate and pedestrian-killing stroads!
This is a really great post, thank you!
photo of people biking into downtown Seattle
The three most common doubts I hear about whether biking can scale in Seattle are:
1) Is it too hilly?
2) Is it too rainy?
3) Are things too far away?
Let's assume those are good faith questions and look at each one in turn. ๐งต
Ugh, that's awful. @amysundberg.bsky.social you should write an article about this!
I think this is a core issue. Yes, prosecute serious crimes, but most misdemeanors are problems of inequality and inadequate social safety nets
OK, if Cascadia can't have high speed rail can we at least get an overnight train-ferry?
Really sorry to hear that
