The way this "acting" US Attorney was kept in office is not dissimilar from the way they've kept the USA in Eastern Washington in place. Particularly so he can prosecute the #Spokane9 for "conspiracy" for participating in a protest at an ICE facility.

Speaking of the #spokane9... Mikki needs help. The direct and indirect effects of the indictment: job loss, the court-mandated relocation to Boise, loss of health insurance, etc. have put Mikki in quite a bind. Give them a hand if you can.

This is just one story of the #spokane9 . Nine concerned and determined people, each with family and friends, triumphs and traumas, had their lives upended by the FBI when they were federally indicted in July. Keep them in your thoughts, but don't be cowed. Keep fighting. The stakes are too high.

I can make an argument that the reason that some of the #spokane9 were targeted by the FBI was due to having their pictures taken at the protests, and that those pictures were used by local journalists.

On June 11th, 2025 the spokane community came together to participate in direct action to defend two community members from being dissapeared by ICE agents. On July 15th. My friend Mikki Hatfield and 8 other activists and protestors who were involved were arrested by federal agents. IMG: A sketch of an empty courtroom. 7 of these protestors were released from state custody within a day of the arrests, but two of them, Bobbi Silva and my friend Mikki Hatfield, were held for several days. Today, July 18th, I attended their hearing and did courtroom sketches. This is my account of what happened. I will be biased. As a cartoonist I naturally exagerate what I see, but I am committed to truth. I have no sympathy for those who defend fascism. With this work I hope to humanize Mikki and Bobbi.
