Everyone is talking about Palisades when the Eaton and Hurst fires and destroying middle class communities primarily made up of Hispanic and black people. Those are hard working people that don't have second homes to run too or money to rebuild their lives.

Those pictures are great, seems like the fire is really intense down the way, is that at Porto Marina intersection or closer? There is a historic building that way and it would be awful to lose.

He would have to have it at Beverly Hills Hotel where a lot of Palisades residents are staying. These are not the middle class families from Sylmar and Altadena. Those fires are devastating the middle class working families in the area.

Santa Monica is still there, Palisades not so much.

How does it look down at Sunset and PCH? There are a lot of large residential complexes and commercial buildings in that tight area.

I would be devastated if this happened in Compton, it kills me to see how the Eaton fire is spreading and that the Hurst fire is still out of control. The people in the Palisades have money and will continue to have money after their house burns down. Not the same for people in other fire zones

The Eaton fire is closer and will affect a lot more people in a very densely populated area of Los Angeles. There is also a lot more room for the fire to spread there and it should be the focus of crews coming from out of state.

The building in this picture was a company I used to work for with a bunch of multi million dollar apartments over the commercial spaces.

My heart breaks for those affected by the Eaton fire because resources are stretched thin with the Palisades fire.

The wind is pushing west/south west, I don't think it will make its way down to Santa Monica. If anything its going to blow hard towards Malibu.

Could be from a downed power line in some of the older areas in the hills. That is something they should have known to fix as well.

I would love to see an update view of that area on the BBC site, that is the corner of Sunset and PCH and used to work with a bunch of toxic people and a terrible company a block up that hill on Sunset.

If you have never been to Hearst Castle I highly recommend it. The night tour especially.
