Steam optimization and the social media algorithm machine burnt me out pretty hard so I decided that I am building a game for me.

Yeah that actually sucks... Honestly, if you are able, I would just wait. I truly believe we are in an AI bubble and the demand will collapse. just like it did for fibre optic in the early 2000's.
Doesn't mean AI is going away, but the pace at which everything is advancing will probably slow.

Been diving deep into the indie web lately, and honestly… this feels like the future.

What I learned my Steam playtest:
Cosmic Castaway has strong ideas—but I jumped the gun on full development.
I should’ve nailed the core gameplay loop first.
Back to prototyping internally for a much stronger version.
