Jewish communities are living in fear amid rising antisemitism, including these appalling arson attacks. We must confront this.
At the same time, antisemitism is being weaponised to shut down criticism of the Israeli government.
Both are true. Both deeply concerning. Both Antisemitic.

Always sounds like a trap, but it isn’t! Ordinary folks really do buy other ordinary folks books. I even have one to prove it 😄
Accepting an offer via Big Green is a great way for people to support an independent book shop :)

🚨🚨It is not often #EUlaw make the headlines but today's significant seminal ruling by the @eucourtofjustice.bsky.social where the Court ruled that #hungarian laws breached the fundamental values of the EU in Art 2 TEU is a major political victory for #LGBTI+ rights. 🧵 www.politico.eu/article/eu-t...
I don’t need to know a specific imam’s thoughts on the UAE to let them know I’m sorry another UK mosque has been vandalised. But it’s amazing the number of British people I have spoke with who think you have to wholeheartedly and enthusiastically hold the same views as someone to express solidarity.
I wouldn’t suggest asking that of anyone. I’d just suggest they tell their neighbours they’re thinking of them at a difficult time state they’re supportive and glad to have them (and indeed many other groups of people) as part of their community.
To revert your own original reply, perhaps remember a variety of perspectives exist within the Jewish community, including those who do wish to hear from others providing they don’t start bun fight about their particular views.
With the acknowledge that we do not always come across the way we intend.
No, in the slightest. I’m replying to a thread where you’ve made several points, and I’ve responded. I still can’t work out work out what your point is. Happy to give it one more go if you can sum it up in a single, polite reply.
‘They can elect to be anti-Zionist but they cannot elect to be not collectively hated.’ <—this is precisely my point. Don’t assume everyone holds the same view as one another. Nothing in this thread has suggested anything different.
They hold a variety of views too, some I’d agree with, some I wouldn’t. But you can show you care, that you’re interested in people’s welfare, and you want to look out for them, without asking people to discuss the situation in the Middle East.
Firstly, this will be why I am always careful to specify you do need to the Israeli *government*, and not Israelis.
Secondly, contacting your local synagogue, or your friends, to check how they are doing is precisely what a variety of different Jewish people I know of have suggested people do.
Maybe they’ll buy some more copies? Some people may also ge bored.
This is aimed at people who aren’t part of that community and who don’t know if communicating support for their local Jewish community means they also supporting the Israeli government to do so. If someone holds a different view then they probably aren’t going to worry about getting in touch.
This isn’t addressed to every Jewish person. It’s addressed to people aren’t and aren’t sure if being supportive the Jewish community means you support the Israeli government. Of course there is a range of views within the Jewish community, just as there are outside of it.
What documents to other UK organisations require you to provide to claim for contactless travel payments like TfL?
HMRC says you have to provide receipts for all transactions, but TfL and other transport networks don’t make it easy to get them for contactless ticket.
I would *love* to live in a world of lentils, but most of them hate me :|
So, if that’s the case, you’ll be replying to people with a range of views? Not just those suggesting their local Jewish community shouldn’t be attacked?
With the help of the Sandy Hook families, The Onion has reached a long-awaited deal to take over InfoWars.

That’s pretty good!
*Waves from England*
I hope you have a lovely time here :)
Just another reminder that pharisees are the predecessors of rabbinic judaism of today. Jesus' condemnation of *some* pharisees doesnt mean that blanket all pharisees and Jewish people are bad. In fact, the Apostle Paul still identified as a pharisee during his ministry.
The condemnation Jesus
A fair summary.
We have a handful of communities in the UK called Shared Ecumenical Partnerships that do this. The local one where I used to live had a CofE minister but was made up of CofE, URC, and Methodists folks. It was great.
It’s a weird boast, isn’t it.
Thanks ☺️ However, I have no connection to the US.
It can a really healthy, if hard exercise. I imagine it is the case elsewhere, too, but here in England it’s part of the discernment process and the folks assessing your vocation ask you about ‘inhabiting’ different characteristics (basically impossible without imagining being in the role imho)
