(Sehr) Schweres ME/CFS bedeutet in 🇦🇹 für viele Betroffene: keine ausreichende medizinische Versorgung und fehlende Unterstützung im Alltag.
Gemeinsam mit der Abteilung für Primary Care Medicine (@meduniwien.ac.at) haben wir die Versorgungssituation wissenschaftlich untersucht.

Es gibt ja lautstark in die Diskussion um #MECFS involvierte Menschen, die glauben, #PEM sei Fatigue oder Belastungsintoleranz oder Dekonditionierung.

Auch andere Infektionen (z.B. Influenza) hinterlassen molekulare Spuren. Die Studiendaten dazu sind jedoch limitiert und meist auf die akute Phase beschränkt. Bei COVID scheinen die Veränderungen häufiger, anhaltender, systemischer & stärker mit Entzündung und oxidativem Stress verknüpft zu sein.
