Mine hasn't dried out yet so I'm trying to get as much weeding in as poss before it turns to concrete. βΊοΈ
I think they get a bad press because they escaped into the wild in the uk.
I remember there was a massive one covered in pale purple flowers in a country lane near one of my childhood homes. Quite stunning.
Somehow I don't think doctors are taking action because it's 'easy to go on strike'.
I think it might have more to do with unsustainable working conditions.
If war was imminent Gen Z would respond as other generations have responded.
For the most part, patriotism & national pride are about basking in reflected glory. Like most things they should be enjoyed in moderation - if at all. imho.
No he shouldn't go over this.
As I understand it this issue has revealed that the vetting process is not as clear cut as most of us thought.
Q: Is this person a security risk?
A: Maybe
Do you have the phrase 'rats deserting a sinking ship' in the US?
I think you'll find it was Iran that cancelled.
The only thing Trump is set to launch is yet another tirade of abuse.
Maybe nobody replied to his ad for 'experienced negotiators' π€
It's the closest they get to 'teamwork'. π
Maybe the pilot heard that he wouldn't be able to refuel in Pakistan....
Because some idiot has blockaded a Strait somewhere...π€
But we've known that the Civil Service is in charge....ever since Jim Hacker met Sir Humphrey in 'Yes Minister/Prime Minister' π
I knew Milk & More did but apparently there are quite a few others.
The WH soap opera continues...
So the US navy isn't blockading Iran's ports as he said last week, it's blockading the Strait so that the rest of the world can't use it. OK...So why doesn't he want the rest of the world to use the Strait...?
'Confused? You will be...' π€·ββοΈ
A nice day spent doing some sowing and potting up and pottering.
I now have a dozen strawberry plants (variety Elsanta) for sale. They're all from last year's runners and have really strong root systems...

I thought 'BBC English' was 'received' English or 'received pronunciation'. π€
Oooh Kath - be careful with Buddleia twigs, they can take root where you don't want them to. βΊοΈ
Thanks for your opinion about the book. Always interested in other people's take on books I've read.
Not quite sure what you meant by 'just 9 yr olds'.
Maybe it was a ref to my comment that it would suit people from 9 yrs upwards.
Have you read Kate Bradbury's book? I think it's excellent.
Lots of lime green leaves and small white flowers. Flowers have 4 petals & grow at the tip of stems. Stems have several whorls of elongated leaves in cluster of 8. Spot a couple of pale purple herb robert flowers poking through in the centre!
Small woodland strawberry plant growing in grass. Leaf whorl grows in 3 with deep veins. Tall flower spikes with multiple flowers with 5 petals and a bright yellow centre. Behind is a bit of sedge grass - tall tough leaves with very deep centre vein.
I'm thinking this is hedge bedstraw growing under my apple tress. Don't remember it being there before but I did clear out a lot of ivy & brambles last autumn which often allows something else to move in & have a go.
Also woodland strawberries are up & about all over my back garden. π

Peony mainly leaves but to the right a large deep red & green bud with smaller bed behind. 2 other green buds lees developed top & left. Old broken lattice fence in background.
Another peony which is to rhe right of the 1st one. Buds are still green but visible centre left & right. Old lattice fence in background top left.
A tall stemmed peony less bushy than the others. This one has multiple flower buds at the top of its stems. The leaves tend to have a bronze or more olive green tinge to them before maturing. There's a privet behind.
It's nearly peony time folks. π€
They don't last long but I love mine as they're opposite the front door so are the 1st thing I see in the morning before going to work this time of year.

Pink & white buds of apple blossom & green leaves. In the background s sparse privet hedge.
White flowers of apple blossom with yellow centres. In the background a privet hedge and against the skyline tress from a neighbouring woodland.
And the small apple trees are blossoming. Pleased that the 1st one seems to have survived the loss of a major limb last autumn.

Patch of grass with several small purple flowers of dog violets in full bloom.
A mound of heart shaped leaves with several purple flowers amongst them. Top right is the base of a grey metal birdbath on a grey slab which is behind the plant.
Front lawn - along with primroses I have a profusion of dog violets this year.
Back garden - what looks like a mound of dog violets approx 1 ft tall. Not sue why it's grown upwards rather than outwards. Leaves are much bigger. Is it a different var or just not mown over?

I remember my uncle used to put twigs in the ground. Tie string to them to make a sort of lattice. Then attach milk bottle tops (bits of aluminium foil) to the string.
I think he might have done it with some of his veg seed beds too. βΊοΈ
I don't know if there's any issue with birds getting snared tho.
From a regime that has been engaging in economic terrorism from the moment it took office.
My issue is that (at time of writing) I haven't heard Starmer say explicitly that he/MPs were told by the CS that the result was a pass.
Is he going with 'we weren't told either way so we assumed a 'pass'? idk
But if that is the case then a PM or MP needs to cop it.
Come on America - you can do so much better than this.
My heart sinks every time I read these stories.
That's called a kangaroo court in the UK.
This process should go very quickly:
Iran is mine clearing....
With the navy it no longer has...
Which is being blockaded in port...
By the US navy...
All civilian ships are free to use the Strait...
This process should go very quickly...
π΅ There's a whole in my bucket, dear Liza, dear Liza...π΅
Oh well done you.
Maybe they renamed in honour of his new bestie 'Iran'. π
