Let me know if you want some (only local to Dolgellau I'm afraid)and I'll arrange getting them to you. Or pop by the house and put your donation through the letterbox.

If you plant them in a sunny spot, you should get strawberries from them this year.
I'm suggesting £2.50 per plant and all money raised will be donated to humanitarian aid for Ukraine.
There'll be sunflowers for sale soon.

A nice day spent doing some sowing and potting up and pottering.
I now have a dozen strawberry plants (variety Elsanta) for sale. They're all from last year's runners and have really strong root systems...

This is a striking, high-contrast close-up photograph of a double-flowered daffodil, centered against a deep, pitch-black background. Visual Details • The Flower: The subject is a complex, multi-layered bloom. It features delicate, white outer petals that fan out, framing a ruffled, dense center. The inner petals display a soft, warm palette of apricot and pale peach, creating a beautiful transition from the stark white of the exterior. • Lighting and Style: The photograph utilizes dramatic, focused lighting that illuminates the texture of the petals, highlighting their soft, papery quality. The contrast between the illuminated flower and the absolute black background gives the image a studio-like, minimalist, and elegant aesthetic. • Composition: The flower is positioned centrally, drawing the eye immediately to the intricate, frilled structure of its core. The composition is clean and uncluttered, emphasizing the organic beauty and geometric complexity of the bloom.

Went to the opening of our local community tree nursery. Great to see the amazing work my local council and a group of volunteers are doing. The next stage is the opening of our own community garden next year.

A Vibrant Cluster of Lilacs The image features a beautiful, close-up view of a lilac cluster in full bloom. • Color: The flowers are a deep, intense magenta-purple, creating a rich and saturated focal point. • Texture & Form: The cluster is dense and textured, made up of a mix of tightly closed buds and fully opened flowers. The open blossoms show off their classic four-petaled shape. • Background: Surrounding the flowers are lush, heart-shaped leaves in a soft, bright green, which contrast beautifully with the deep purple of the blossoms, emphasizing the arrival of spring.

Half seed tray packed with nicotiana sylvestris seedlings
Going to prick out and pot on some more seedlings tonight.
When I was sowing my nicotiana sylvestris I remember saying to myself I’ve sown that seed too thickly. The seed tray suggests my initial thoughts were right. Going to take a while lol #plantsky #flowersky #gardensky #UKGardening

Peony mainly leaves but to the right a large deep red & green bud with smaller bed behind. 2 other green buds lees developed top & left. Old broken lattice fence in background.
Another peony which is to rhe right of the 1st one. Buds are still green but visible centre left & right. Old lattice fence in background top left.
A tall stemmed peony less bushy than the others. This one has multiple flower buds at the top of its stems. The leaves tend to have a bronze or more olive green tinge to them before maturing. There's a privet behind.
It's nearly peony time folks. 🤗
They don't last long but I love mine as they're opposite the front door so are the 1st thing I see in the morning before going to work this time of year.

Pink & white buds of apple blossom & green leaves. In the background s sparse privet hedge.
White flowers of apple blossom with yellow centres. In the background a privet hedge and against the skyline tress from a neighbouring woodland.
And the small apple trees are blossoming. Pleased that the 1st one seems to have survived the loss of a major limb last autumn.

Patch of grass with several small purple flowers of dog violets in full bloom.
A mound of heart shaped leaves with several purple flowers amongst them. Top right is the base of a grey metal birdbath on a grey slab which is behind the plant.
Front lawn - along with primroses I have a profusion of dog violets this year.
Back garden - what looks like a mound of dog violets approx 1 ft tall. Not sue why it's grown upwards rather than outwards. Leaves are much bigger. Is it a different var or just not mown over?

A Vibrant Periwinkle Blossom This close-up photograph captures the delicate, striking beauty of what appears to be a Lesser Periwinkle (Vinca minor). Key Visual Details • The Flowers: The image features two main, vibrant violet-purple blossoms. They each have five distinct, broad, somewhat rounded petals that radiate from a central white throat, creating a subtle, star-like pattern in the middle. • Foliage: The flowers are framed by lush, glossy, oval-shaped green leaves. The depth of field is shallow, meaning the focus is sharp on the upper flower, while the leaves in the immediate foreground and background soften into a gentle blur. • Lighting & Color: Natural, soft daylight illuminates the scene, enhancing the deep, saturated tones of the purple petals and the fresh, verdant green of the surrounding leaves. This capture evokes the quiet, simple elegance often found in woodland or garden groundcovers during the spring.

The image shows a cluster of white bluebells (Hyacinthoides non-scripta) in full bloom. The delicate, bell-shaped flowers hang in small groups from slender green stems, their petals curling slightly outward at the tips. Key Visual Details: • Flowers: The primary focus is on several stalks of bright white blossoms. At the bottom of the frame, there is a small splash of color from a few vibrant purple bluebells, creating a nice contrast. • Foliage: Long, blade-like green leaves rise vertically through the composition, appearing smooth and healthy. • Background: The ground is covered in a natural carpet of brown, dried oak leaves and organic forest floor debris, which makes the white and green of the living plants pop. • Composition: The shot is a medium close-up, capturing the flowers at a slightly downward angle, emphasizing their drooping, "nodding" habit. The overall feel of the photo is serene and indicative of a classic British woodland scene in mid-spring.
Good morning Bluesky Folks

The picture features a close-up of a vibrant Common Lilac (Syringa vulgaris) branch in the early stages of blooming. Visual Highlights • The Blooms: The central focus is a dense, conical cluster of flower buds in a deep magenta or wine-purple hue. While most of the flowers are still tightly closed, rounded buds, a few four-petaled blossoms have begun to unfurl, revealing a softer lavender-pink interior. • The Foliage: The flowers are framed by bright, heart-shaped green leaves. The leaves appear smooth and matte, typical of lilac bushes in mid-spring. • Composition: The branch extends diagonally from the upper left toward the lower right. The background consists of a soft, out-of-focus blur of green grass and other shrubbery, which makes the rich color of the buds pop. Details & Texture The texture of the buds is particularly striking—they look like tiny, waxy beads clustered together. Lilacs like this are famous for their heavy, sweet fragrance, which is usually strongest just as these buds begin to open fully. It looks like a perfect snapshot of spring reaching its peak!
