From domain 'geologyscience.com': An image of a blood falls at Taylor Glacier shows dramatic rust-red water flowing from an ice wall. I can't be certain they haven't tweaked the colors, which seem especially vivid compared to others.
At the foot of Taylor Glacier, in Taylor Valley, Antarctica, is a "Blood Falls", an ominous and disturbing natural phenomenon.
First observed by a 1911 expedition led by geologist Thomas Griffith Taylor (for whom the valley & glacier are named), it was originally thought to be red algae, but...

I was asked to be a judge for a beadwork competition at Nunatta Sunakkutaangit. The artists made these in THREE HOURS... insane.

Never thought I'd ever shoot a gun in my life. Super fun, I can see myself getting really into this. #firearms
Reconnecting with a favourite author from undergrad Art History. Really needing some hope right now

Iβm genuinely dead serious when I say: art. Art in school, art in communities, scholarships and government jobs in art like during The New Deal, special apprenticeships for arts that weβre losing at at alarming rate, funding for indigenous art practice and learning. Throw money at arts

While you may not find Snafu on a map of Nunavut, Inuk Elder Manitok Thompson remembers the tiny settlement as the home where she spent part of her childhood.

Got paid overtime to go to an art market event, spent way more than the overtime I made. Fulfilling my division's goal of stimulating the arts economy though π

I am reminded of a study which explored morality among NT and autistic people, and concluded that NT people tended to do the right thing more often when their generosity was known, and ND people did the right thing regardless.
The conclusion of the study was that ND people were rigid.
Yeah, right
In the middle of the night EM Kooneeliusie of Qikiqtarjuaq, Nunavut posted this photo on Nunavut Photos of the Arctic, wondering what the mysterious dome beneath the moon could be. Suggestions came in: it looks like itβs a frozen dome of lit ice crystals of a winter lunar halo. Amazing catch!
Also, David Oyelowo might be one of the prettiest ppl to ever live
Watching 2018 Les Mis. I'm pretty sure Javert is autistic and his special interest is the law.
Lovely!!!
Frost flowers galore in Sanikiluaq as captured by one of my favourite Nunavut photographers Sarah Meeko. You need a quick cold freeze to create the crystals for frost flowers as the ice forms. Beautiful!
I subscribed just for vibes
I totally get it, Moonstruck is my favourite 'good' Cage film haha
It's embarrassing, I'm a Cage aficionado and I've actually never seen it
