I’m genuinely dead serious when I say: art. Art in school, art in communities, scholarships and government jobs in art like during The New Deal, special apprenticeships for arts that we’re losing at at alarming rate, funding for indigenous art practice and learning. Throw money at arts

I am reminded of a study which explored morality among NT and autistic people, and concluded that NT people tended to do the right thing more often when their generosity was known, and ND people did the right thing regardless.
The conclusion of the study was that ND people were rigid.

Yeah, right

In the middle of the night EM Kooneeliusie of Qikiqtarjuaq, Nunavut posted this photo on Nunavut Photos of the Arctic, wondering what the mysterious dome beneath the moon could be. Suggestions came in: it looks like it’s a frozen dome of lit ice crystals of a winter lunar halo. Amazing catch!

Frost flowers galore in Sanikiluaq as captured by one of my favourite Nunavut photographers Sarah Meeko. You need a quick cold freeze to create the crystals for frost flowers as the ice forms. Beautiful!

South Korean artist incorporates Arctic imagery, mythology in artwork β€œWhat is the shape of the soul?” That was the question South Korean artist Kim Seola posed to Inuit artists in Kinngait Studios during her two visits to the Arctic.

This is such a cool collaboration. Nunavut should be sending artists to Korea as well.
