Oh and the sign is also in the bike lane
Of course they put up a sign facing eastbound traffic which was unaffected
Large truck transporting construction equipment parked in the Berwyn contraflow lane
Construction has hit a second nearby greenway
I keep revealing “post hidden by muted word” that doesn’t contain any words I’ve muted and neither does the alt text
Remember this is the same City of Chicago that scoffs at being held to maintenance standards and liability for cyclist injuries on roads not designated as bikeways. This is how they act even when they do have increased liability.
Open pit surrounded by caution tape and barricades on the southwest corner of Winnemac and Ashland
Same spot at night after the barricades were predictably knocked over
I guess this didn’t upload yesterday but heads up #bikechi there’s a big open trench on Winnemac just west of Ashland for (very necessary) sewer work. It’s covered by an unsecured plate and surrounded by sand and gravel, so I‘ll be avoiding that bit.
Lake forever problems for now
Intersection of Berwyn/Ashland. Bike signal for contraflow/eastbound bikes is flashing red and the signal for Ashland is flashing yellow
The signal cabinet was installed at Berwyn/Ashland so the lights are operational but flashing red/yellow for now

It looks like this stretch of Clark south of Grand is due for Arterial Resurfacing next year. We need to pressure CDOT and Reilly to extend the PBL and connect the network.
Heads up the Clark bike lane that dumps you out in river north has construction in the left lane (the incomplete PBL is on the left). prepare for additional assholery or salmon in the Dearborn PBL (CDOT’s problem to own, not yours imo)
If you CHOOSE to drive downtown and then honk at anyone, immediately jail
Don't blame people walking for the lawlessness of drivers and maybe don’t make a joke of drivers mowing down pedestrians. What is wrong with you?
The text of this bill has nothing to do with children’s safety, you can title a bill anything. It’s invasion of privacy and putting our identities at risk to absolve Meta of its crimes. Thousands of Illinoisans submitted witness slips opposing this bill and our reps blatantly ignored us.
ey so how long is it gonna take to replace these couple two tree overpasses scattered about montrose beach and why is the answer “years”
They’re doing radio ads too. I understand the point of the legislation but I don’t understand how it would just “stop working”
I saw it on instagram, ending at Clybourn/Division
That sign is not MUTCD compliant lmao
My late contribution to Chicagohenge
I hear it all the time too!
This would have helped me realize one sprayer arm was not doing anything and that’s why my bowls were coming out dirty on the bottom rack
Alzheimer's Association, Restore Justice, UPLC, and to Bike Grid Now coming down to provide subject matter testimony, and to everyone for coming to Springfield and advocating for the needs of our communities. More updates soon - stay tuned! (2/2)
Photo of a freshly painted green bike lane at sidewalk level separated from car traffic by bollards on the left and from pedestrians by trees on the right.
Fresh Kermit at Lincoln/Ainslie/Western connecting the Lincoln Ace protected bike lane with the Ainslie Greenway (and east to Leavitt Greenway). Right turns are separated by arrows and the conflicting WB-SB left turn from Ainslie will be prohibited soon.
Who is “concerned” about speed-limited scooters when cars remain unlimited? The drivers pose the risk and don’t take responsibility to even stop half the time.
USPS is always in the daylighting zones that don’t have bumpouts around me. lol they will not be deterred
