Seem to be back up again now. Maybe a denial of service attack.

That leaves us exposed. When fuel costs rise, so does the cost of food and goods. Image of pumps at petrol station.

Just because you have solar panels....... Many households have invested in solar panels over the past 15 years, but that doesn't mean your journey to reduce household emissions is done. Here are some ideas to reduce your carbon emissions further: * Change your petrol/diesel car to an EV and save around 2500 kg/yr * Change your gas heating to reverse cycle AC and save 1600 kg/yr * Swap 1 kg of beef for vego dishes per week and save 3000 kg/yr By the way, you will save money too!
Need some help going all electric?

The Australia Institute - POLITICS IN THE PUB GAS, TAX & FAIRNESS with Senator David Pocock 6.30pm AEST Wednesday 15 April LIVE on Facebook and YouTube
Gas companies are making billions while Australians face rising energy bills. So what would it look like to tax gas properly and make the system fair?
Join David Pocock, Richard Denniss and Leanne Minshull for a live conversation on gas, tax and fairness this Wednesday April 15. 🕡 6.30pm AEST
$17 billion per year Australia Institute research shows a 25% tax on gas exports would raise $17 billion each year to fund essential services.
The Australia Institute has built a live tracker showing that lost revenue in real time. The tracker is now on digital truck billboards circling Parliament House as a constant reminder to politicians.
~$49,800,000 per day Nearly $50 million every single day, seven days a week, flowing to multinational LNG exporters instead of Australian schools and hospitals.
Australia is one of the world’s biggest gas exporters, yet we tax gas exports far less than other countries. That has cost Australians tens of billions of dollars in lost public revenue.
Australia's Gas Giveaway $577 per second $34,600 per minute $2,080,000 per hour $348,900,000 per week
The Albanese government has now backed an inquiry into how gas is taxed in Australia. That means real reform is finally being considered.

Data Centres: A Growing Climate and Water Challenge Smart Planning for Energy and Water Efficiency
AI is rapidly reshaping our world — but what does it mean for the climate? While #AI holds promise as a powerful tool for tackling the climate crisis, its growing appetite for energy, water, and materials is already driving significant environmental impacts.

Total subsidies to coal mines, gas companies and major diesel users was up 9.4%. By contrast, despite widespread suggestions that its growth is ‘unsustainable’, the cost of the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) increased by only 7.6% over the same period.

Australian state and federal governments provided $16.3 billion in subsidies to fossil fuel producers and major users in 2025-26, according to new research from The Australia Institute.

Burning coal and gas drives climate change which is making extreme weather more frequent and intense. Gas Refinery photo by Chris Leboutillier
This isn't random. Burning coal and gas leads to climate change which is causing more intense and frequent extreme weather events, and communities should not be left to pay for the results.
