I've been going through my archives for NES Wolverine and have managed to re-assemble my original 6502 game code and create a build from the 1st August 1990. As you can see it's a VERY early demo with the 8-way scroll routine, panel and collision working. No Wolverine sprites yet!
Windows 11 project leaders promising "new" features that exist in both modern KDE/Plasma and the original Windows 95 release.
Anyone still putting up with this is exhibiting some wild Stockholm Syndrome.

this is something I came across in the xRite literature. The qualitative saturation difference actually corresponds to the emission between the two illuminants - xenon has more wideband activity, and so it is "less saturated".
If you enjoyed my posts about Metroid games you might like to learn that I made a fully drawn strategy guide for the original game several years ago. It's free! www.handdrawngameguides.com/free-guides/...
Temu targeted advertising has seemingly stared deep into my soul.
Fit third party videos, I use yt-dlp. You can feed it the -F / --list-formats flag to get the specific details. There are then advanced filters/configs to set codec/resolution/HDR preference orders on download.
For my videos, I use Google Takeout to get the originals I uploaded.
Every term used in computing gets replaced with the word "app"
The problem is mostly a combination of marketing, mainstream media, and the fact that, rounded to the nearest integer, zero percent of people understand computers.
35 years ago, I was heading into Xmas playing this absolutely terrific Mega Drive game. Castle of Illusion sounded fabulous, played brilliantly, and looked like a million dollars. A real landmark platformer that was the perfect Mega Drive demo game to wow your friends with!

At first, I thought I could just rotate the hue of HSL colors and call it a day. Since then, I've learned about perceptual color spaces, OKLCH, Bezold-BrΓΌcke effect and I still can't always get good programmatic palettes π
But I built Color Palette Pro to help get us halfway there: colorpalette.pro

Ever wonder why a Supergun has such a stupid (but cool) name?
It was just a name used by Taiwanese firm Gamesgroup Corp, similar to later products like Super Wildcard & SuperUFO game copiers
Raven Games (London) got their own version made to UK spec & called it Supergun Deluxe. It stuck

Very exciting. The retro stuff is absolutely my favourite part of DF. Very happy to hear this becoming a regular thing, and looking forward to the upcoming guests too.

Super sad to hear that #80s icon and artist Drew Struzan has passed away at the age of 78. Super talented. He was the illustrator of our childhood dreams! RIP Drew!
KDE/Plasma can use the "kscreen-doctor" tool to do the same. Complete command line controls over brightness, colour, gamma, SDR and HDR settings.
It's a pretty sad state of affairs when we have plenty of viable, royalty-free HDR image formats that would work for this. There's no excuse for it in 2025.
Unfortunately Sony do an awful job of exporting HDR captures. PNG just crushes everything, and JPG weirdly looks different (seems to do some sort of tone mapping), although it's still bad (and their compression is horrendous).
