This sums up my thoughts perfectly. Human-in-the-loop is a fallacy and does not work.
There will be systems where using LLM-based coding agents is jut not an option (we will find this out painfully, I am afraid).
The others will eat engineers like chips.
The trap is simple:
AI makes code generation cheap, but it does not make correctness cheap.
Once that asymmetry exists, every software engineer using LLMs to generate code is forced into a binary that guarantees madness.

There is no reason to play the AI slop game. There is enough real stuff out there.

We find the "boiling frog" equivalent of AI use. Using large-scale RCTs, we provide *casual* evidence that AI assistance reduces persistence and hurts independent performance.
And these effects emerge after just 10–15 minutes of AI use!
