Three years ago, we showed ~70% of lifespan variation in yeast traces to rDNA copy number. Ribosomal DNA, encoded as 5S and 45S subunits in hundreds of copies, vary substantially across humans. Does this copy number variation, and sequence variation within these paralogs, matter for humans?

Genetic suppression interactions are highly conserved across genetically diverse yeast isolates Sometimes the detrimental effects of a mutation can be rescued by another mutation. For genetic diseases, such suppressor mutations may identify new therap

Our updated APOL1 manuscript just went live on #bioRxiv – perfectly timed with #APOL1AwarenessDay (April 29). We've sharpened our hypothesis and focused the supporting evidence for a clearer story.

Discovery and characterisation of gene by environment and epistatic genetic effects in a vertebrate model Phenotypic variation arises from the interplay between genetic and environmental factors. However, disentangling these interactions for complex traits remains challenging in observational cohorts such...

An under-appreciated perk of AI-aided coding: the consistent positive encouragement you rarely get IRL! Just finished a co-coding session with ChatGPT and it signed off with "Good luck with your project -- it's shaping up beautifully 🙌". Needed that!
