One, two... Yep, all there.

The eggs are usually laid at 2-3 day intervals, so we should probably see another one on Thursday. But it's up to Blue 35!

And that's two for the two on nest two.

717 laid her second egg at 17.53 today. Well done young lady.

Egg 2 on nest 1 at about 1 am.

Sorry, is that some kind of code?

Blue 35 laid a second egg in the early hours of this morning. Hard to spot in daylight, but picked up on the night camera. Two down, one to go!

Aw, thanks. It's a good outlet and saves me from groans and thick ears in real life!

Pretty sure, yes. Jenny has some shots from the night camera that seems to show them up

Morning! Blue 35 has some me time in the perching tree while YW does egg duty. Incubation is shared out. She does the majority, but has breaks to eat and stretch her wings.

Over on nest 2, 717 Discovers that it's a self-service breakfast buffet after shouting at 476 for ten minutes.

The changing of the guard.

YW flies in for a turn on the egg. They've rearranged the nest a bit so it's hard to see the egg. Probably planning a subscription service.

Second egg usually arrives after a couple of days, so there could be another soon. Or already!

On nest 2, 476 takes a turn on the egg.

Folk have asked who's the daddy, given the shenanigans on nest 1 early on. It's usually 48 hours between fertilisation and laying, so this is definitely his. No paternity suits!

I'm just resting my eyes...

Blue 35 has a nap while egg sitting. The usual pattern is another egg after 2 days, then a third three days after that. Or thereabouts. Hard to be eggsact.

There's usually only about two or three days between fertilisation and laying, so this will definitely be 476's. Earlier mating is mainly about stimulating egg production. I don't think there will be any paternity suits!

Not to be outdone, 717 laid an egg on nest 2 around 9 this morning. Wonderful news and here's hoping they all do well this season.

Eggy eggy eggy! It was laid at about 5.50 this morning. You can see it by Blue 35's left leg. Well done Mrs! That's the 37th egg that she's laid.

Salad?! Are you kidding?

YW is still decorating the nursery with some grass and moss. That hollow in the middle is designed for eggs, which could appear any day now.

Excuse me, that's not a fish! YW has been to B&Q when he should have been getting the groceries.

The nest grows all the time. One in the US reached 13 feet (4 metres) in height!

You can see why Blue 717 wanted to pinch nest 1. It's a definite step up the property ladder. But nest 2 will grow and we are hoping that she and 476 have a really good season.

She's four and from Fife, he hatched in Cumbria in 2021.

Here's an Adder that was sheltering in the bracken from yesterday's cold, blustery weather. It was a wind screened viper.

Ospreys in the mist. The wild winds have calmed and there's a bit of low lying fog on the reserve.
First egg could arrive around 18 April but we'll have to wait and see.

OK, I'm having a bad hair day. There's no need to stare.
It's still pretty wild on the nest as the wind whips up the estuary and flusters the feathers. It makes life harder, especially trying to fish in choppy waters.

DIYW. A bit of nest fettling while Blue 35 supervises from atop the camera. When they return in spring they dig an 'egg cup' hollow in the middle of the nest, then start building up the sides. That nest is pretty big after 13 years of home improvement!

Houston, we have a problem! A tricky landing for YW on a windy day at Foulshaw. He and B35 have settled in together now. The first egg was laid on this day last year, but she was a week later this time, so here's hoping we'll see one by the 18th.
