My favorite character dynamic to write is agent of chaos child and deadpan adult who does very little to contain them

I could spend hours daydreaming the details of a scene and be as confident and certain as could be, only for it to go an entirely different direction the millisecond I lay hands on my keyboard. I'm pretty sure there's a Sun Tzu quote applicable here...

I still think this is one of the coolest games of the last 10 years. It has its problems, and it's a shame that Capcom has basically abandoned it, but it's beautiful and weird and the sort of game I dreamed about when I was a kid and I wondered "what will games be like in the future?"
It was my GotY for 2024. I put hundreds of hours into it and hundreds more into DDDA. I was so disappointed by how the mtx "controversy" killed so much discussion about it. Then people overlooked that they did the same thing in MH Wilds... and have done so for just about every other Capcom game 😭

Right! Eeeeveryone knows *that guy* (or some of us are that guy) and it's very funny to satirize yourself that way!
I've written one of my annoying personality traits into one of my characters: petty linguistic nitpicking (for example, finding "less vs. fewer" mistakes annoying). I was unsure about how it would read, but it actually gives me a nice belly laugh.
