I think it principle it’s a great idea, but the job of triaging and tracking all the edits and corrections would be massive - most archives are hugely understaffed by wildly-underpaid people as-is. See also: why I work in tech instead. 😉

I did see that! I don’t think we have that here in Ireland (or if so, I don’t have it), but definitely great to see it pop up.

Ex-archivist here: we’ve been using LLMs (not ‘AI’ as such) to help with transcription at scale for many years…it’s never 100% accurate, but is a huge help. Crowdsourcing transcription QA is great, but can take years on its own.

My only contribution to the Allbirds discourse (which I have only just discovered) is that I got a weird, permanent toenail injury from trying a pair of their running shoes some years back. Been great for my podiatrist!

Got some literature in our mailbox this morning. We’ve gone down a full rabbit hole, it’s apparently from the Christadelphians.

It is a shameful truth that anyone who knows anything about it can agree with. Not helped by the fact the archaeology museum has had to defend their space from a mooted invasion by the Seanad when the Dáil was getting renovations.
