Early on was not exactly comfortable. Balls into the box, headers, Ward already having to deal with it. You can feel where this might be heading straight away. We get a foothold though with corners, crosses, bits of pressure, Smith involved, Hyam getting chances on set pieces. Then 40’. Windass from range. Low. Clean. Finds it. Oxford 0 - 1 Wrexham. And from there… it turns into a different game. Second half feels like a siege. Cross after cross. Header after header. Blocks, deflections, second balls dropping everywhere. Ward right in the middle of it: saves from range, dealing with shots through bodies, holding onto everything he can. Hyam throwing himself at everything: headers, clearances, bodies in the way when it’s coming in waves. Smith still giving an outlet when we break: involved in the move for the goal, linking things when we get a second. But mostly? It’s defending. Proper, backs-to-the-wall defending. Last 10 minutes feel a bit chaotic. Corners stacking. Shots flying in. One saved. One over. One blocked. We’re just waiting for another to drop. Nothing else does. Ward keeps it clean. 👑 DANNY WARD: 26.7% Early save. Late save. Everything in between.
