Five Al Jazeera journalists killed in Israeli strike near al-Shifa hospital Israel said it targeted well known reporter Anas al-Sharif and alleged he was part of Hamas, which Al Jazeera has denied.

Hard to know what to say anymore. An entire news team of five journalists. Doing their job in a tent for journalists. Killed by the IDF, who refuse to allow international journalists into Gaza. Outrageous and horrific.

The world is looking on in horror as Netanyahu's Government plots to lock Gaza's entire population into effectively a giant prison.

The Prime Minister should make it clear that the UK won't stand idly by, starting by sanctioning Netanyahu himself.

Let young people buy houses with their pensions to avoid a retirement crisis Labour has a unique opportunity to tackle an issue neglected for too long

My thoughts for the Telegraph today on why we need to do more to help younger people not end up as renters in retirement- including looking at controversial ideas such as early access to pension pots for deposits… www.telegraph.co.uk/money/proper...

Victim-survivor mothers are often told to 'get over' the abuse post-separation, 'move on', and 'be nice' when, in fact, the perpetrator is still actively abusing them and their children.

It is deeply unfair and unjust.

I feel sorry for the train managers being the fall guys and having to make announcements like "soz you all have to stand, it's because 4 of the train carriages are broken and so we only have 3. Oh, and also we are running about half an hour late. Thank you!" #trainlife #alwayssomewhereinthemidlands

There shouldn't be presumption of contact for domestic abusers. The rights of people that can physically, financially and mentally abuse those who are meant to be closest to them should never trump the rights of innocent children who need stability

Coercive control to be put on par with other types of domestic abuse in England and Wales Police and probation services will be legally required to share with one another information that suggests offenders are risk to others

Coercive Control has been a crime for a decade, so very late for this. With @jessphillipsmp.bsky.social in govt I know we will see lots of welcome change. Information sharing good step, but training in CC for police, social services & judiciary desperately needed

Temporary housing linked to deaths of at least 74 children Official data show that 58 of those children were babies under the age of one.

There are some stories which no matter how obvious, how inevitable under current systems, still create a visceral reaction.
We have rising levels of poverty and homelessness, including among children. This should be a far bigger focus for government investment. #r4today

Family courts: 'Watershed moment' as press allowed to report From Monday, journalists can speak to families about ongoing cases and report what they hear in court.

Light desperately needs to be shone on needlessly long, emotionally & financially devastating cost of FC proceedings, underhand actions of some solicitors & barristers & failure of Judges to spot abuse.

For a system meant to be child focused, it falls woefully short
