It's crazy. I had some beautiful posts from Japanese temples with maybe 14 likes and then I post a picture of an espresso cup and get like 120. You never know what people are doing going for π

"Eat at Joe's"
Just a miniature...
A flawed but entertaining action flick with a good cast. A better director could have made it a classic. Mortensen goes all in. Extra points for not having a love triangle as a plot point. I liked it.

I love Pusheen!
Finally another Carne movie; with a script by Prevert, no less. I liked it, but it's really bleak and depressing. Literally nothing nice happens to anyone. It was actually banned for a while because of that. 4K looks great. Highly recommended for French cinema fans.

I had some catching up to do...

Another haul has arrived... The steelbook for Big Combo is really cool.

It's train conductor Pikachu. It's an exclusive for the Tokyo Station PokΓ©mon store.
It's Kirimichan, a salmon slice person.
Plushies, plushies everywhere...
Hanako of the Toilet sounds like a horror movie taking place in the same universe as Wim Wenders' Perfect Days π
Yeah. It's very strange.
I didn't guess what it was my the cover either. I thought it was a regular action movie.
The bluray came out a few weeks ago. You can find it on Amazon even.
I really liked it.
Cool. This was a complete blind buy for me. To the extent that I didn't even know it was an animation. I saw a new ninja release and went for it...
What a crazy ride... Iga Shinobi, Mark Twain, the Wild West, pirate treasure, the fall of the Tokugawa shogunate, magic, plot twists, betrayal... It's epic and different from anything I've seen before. The animation style ranges from classic 80s anime to psychedelic.

It's been a looooong time, but here's a new haul. Finally.

It's really good.
Sensory overload, but in a good way...
I love this movie.
Scale replica of Tokyo 3 from Neon Genesis Evangelion. The tallest buildings get evacuated underground occasionally, just like in the anime.
Instead of climbing an obscene amount of stairs to see all of the shrines and sights up in the Enoshima hills, you can pay two bucks for a tunnel escalator ride that has projections on the walls. It's a cool experience and a great contrast to the traditional architecture.
