Both Monarchs and American Painted Ladies migrate. Fun fact, the Monarch is the only North American butterfly that does a two-way migration.

Eastern Tigers and other Swallowtail species overwinter in the pupa stage. Occasionally, some will stay in chrysalis for a few years
