“Please don’t eat me” IYKYK
Normie gull fan here. I don’t have a subscription to the journal but was just curious…
How do we know if the birb was stuck inside the truck, or if it was riding/flying along with the truck voluntarily, or just flying the same freeway route using visual cues?
I wish Charli XCX & Lorde would create a “GULL!” remix music video to “Girl, So Confusing” where they each wear Seagull cosplay & have Jim Henson Muppet seagulls flying all around them singing the backup chorus, “GULL!”
From r/asl, “Why do you keep capitalizing "Deaf"? We use "little-d" deaf to mean someone who physically can't hear well. We use "big-D" Deaf to mean someone who is *culturally deaf*. Now an interesting bit: someone who is Deaf does not have to be deaf, and someone who is deaf does not have to be Deaf! For instance, children of deaf adults (CODAs) are very often Deaf but hearing. Many people are physically deaf but aren't part of Deaf culture. It's about how a person self identifies and where their culture lies more than it does with anything physical.”
Today I learned!!

I am in fact pointing out that the words we use have arbitrary definitions that we made up.
The things we are trying to describe are still real regardless of what we name them.
But to me, people who are still hung up on the whole “Pluto” / “planet” thing are missing the story for the words.
4/ If you love your country, could you love an immigrant or an expat?
If you love your friends, do you also love your enemies?
Love is an action. How we choose to act becomes the very truth of who we are and who we will become.
Just some food for thought.
3/ If you love parties and live sports, could you find a way to love some solitude or sobriety?
If you love conventions, could you learn how to love a furry or a queen?
If you love your church, could you truly love an atheist or religious extremist?
2/ Ok, now ask yourself, what would it look like to stretch that definition and make it bigger?
If you love the beach, could you find a little love for the snow?
If you love your pet, could you see a way to love wild rats or spiders?
1/ A Valentine’s Day challenge 🧵
Think about something that you really truly love other than your partner or family.
What comes to mind? A good friend? A beloved pet? A place? A community? A show? A hobby?
It’s almost like the boxes we use to categorize things are completely arbitrary.
-If you love your country, could you love an immigrant or an expat?
-If you love your friends, do you also love your enemies?
Love is an action. How we choose to act becomes the very truth of who we are and who we will become.

Morgan, the calico domestic shorthair cat, sitting and staring intently up at the camera.
Maybe your reinforcer isn’t strong enough. I have trained my DSH rescue to sit and loaf on command, come, get away, and allow ear cleaning and foot cleaning.
I don’t trust that website so I took the time to manually delete my tweets. It went faster than expected.
Raskin: "Elon Musk, you may have illegally seized power over the financial payments systems of the Treasury, but you don't control the money of the American people. The US Congress does that under Article 1 of the Constitution ... we don't have a fourth branch of government called 'Elon Musk'"
Deck is here theforagersdaughter.com/collections/... one of my all time favorites, so nostalgic as someone who grew up playing in the Wisconsin forests that moved to the big city and then 2000 miles away. As a secular user, I love reflecting on nature imagery instead of people and iconography.
2/2: My interpretation: Do not overthink / over analyze, or you will get stuck in an introspective thought spiral. Be careful what you wish for and what goals you chase. Wait for it. This is a time of change and transformation. The stage is already set and you are already where you need to be.
Three tarot cards showing The Hermit as the red light card, the Page of Pentacles as the yellow light card, and The Hanged Man as the green light card.
1/2: Was feeling kind of ungrounded so I did a simple red light / yellow light / green light tarot meditation for “what should be my focus or North Star at this moment”
Wait there’s a Democracy?
I am currently living in Puerto Rico, it says “go to home page” for me.
I am going to start saying “in my info-search” instead of “in my research.”
I mean, yes I love science 🧪 and my search history includes a lot of pubmed and academic scholars/institutions.
But I have a BA in Accounting. I do not do “research.” Y’all PhD’s can keep this one. I haven’t earned it.
