I use an asterisk for multiplication. It’s better than an x or dot, which maybe confused with another meaning.

I had to email, “who received the 39 dead 7” rats?” They were not delivered to science!

It's best for accessibility to use "Camel Case" meaning capitalize the first letter of each word in a hashtag... so screen readers can read it properly.
{and quite honestly I find it easier to read that way too!! }
