A photo of eight people of different ages and ethnic backgrounds. The text on the image says, "Type 1 Diabetes Doesn’t Look Just One Way" and "Underrepresented research topic." The image highlights the diversity often missing from T1D research.

Age and ethnicity are highly underrepresented in Type 1 diabetes research. The T1D-DAB study at the University of Bristol is aiming to change that.📣 Follow our T1D-DAB community for updates. #Type1diabetes #PhDResearch #InclusiveResearch #UniversityOfBristol #T1DResearchMatters #T1Dcommunity

Oh wow, 19% undetectable were also detectable when stimulated! I must keep an eye on the literature again on this 🙏🏻

How common is it Peter? I thought all my T1 life I might have - diagnosed early by chance, and pre symptomatic. But nope, undetectable there in a c-peptide recently 🤪

Are there any studies which consider the impact of use of 780g HCL for women in pregnancy who have a higher bmi and a similar HbA1c of under 7% or who experience additional complications such as PCOS or adenomyosis? #ATTD2025 @diabeteschat.bsky.social

Tbattelino cannot understand why we don’t use CGM in diagnosing T2D when you consider how the metrics changed compared to a fasting glucose value.

A nice summary of Time in Tight Range for people WITHOUT diabetes. Non-diabetics spend the vast majority of time btw 70-140mg/dL. This is almost impossible to achieve with T1D but even 50% TITR is considered enough to avoid most long term complications #ATTD2025 #dedoc°

We do need tech to help us get to a place where we can better minimise high glucose levels and thrive. #T1D

#TITR is full of disappointment from self and externally. #TING is so positive and aspirational. #Diabetes

Do Sleep Patterns Affect Glycemic Control? In middle-aged and older adults, inadequate sleep duration and late sleep onset are linked to increased glycemic variability, and addressing sleep patterns may help optimize glycemic control.

Quality sleep is crucial to optimizing *time in range.*

Study details "the potential detrimental role of circadian rhythm misalignment on glycemic regulation, providing evidence to incorporate sleep timing into glucose management guidelines."

📢 Promising #T1Diabetes research: Scientists studying BAT-secreted protein (nidogen-2) that could complement insulin therapy by suppressing glucagon & potentially reducing hypos-still in early mouse studies, but shows promise as additional tool w/ insulin for better T1D management. #DiabetesResearch

We really need to talk about #Neurodivergence and #Type1Diabetes together. We hear about Diabetes Distress these days but in my opinion, this is something at the root of a lot of it. Stigma in both that if removed and when supported with what is needed can make the world of difference.

This is such an important topic I feel personally that I'm so glad has finally made a session! If I hadn't GCSE mocks to support, this was the session I would have flown in and out for the day to attend.
