Impington special school has 45 applicants each week Head teacher Steph Smith says her school is oversubscribed and that more like it are needed.

Autism Special school has 45 applicants a week. This is key: “There isn’t enough of these types of school & it's not just down to 'Well, can we make mainstream better?'" Mainstream at all costs, or do some children just need a different environment? www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/...

Mine is much the same. I married close to Christmas and we buy an anniversary decoration each year. Plus all those hand made ones from the kids. All topped off with a flying pig. Love my tree

Interesting: a deep intake of breath just now from Andrew Marr on @LBC @AndrewMarr9 when I told him that the 1944 Educaton Act divided children into two groups: the 'educable' and the 'ineducable'.

Made me think my book might just be helpful.

Don't forget to repost good stuff as you pass through!

You won't get the dopamine hit of a notification when someone likes or reposts your repost, like you did on Twitter, so you need to actively make a conscious decision to remember to do it. We are the algorithm on here. #Bluesky

Agree with all of this however non attendance is multifaceted. What frustrates me most is the pursuit of attendance at all costs without ever seeking to know the cause. The uptick in EBSA alongside ever increasing CAMHS waiting lists indicates there is much more to explore and understand.

Schools forced to provide medical care for vulnerable pupils Situation so bad one trust may be forced to take legal action against its local health board

Grateful to @cjayanetti.bsky.social and @schoolsweek.bsky.social for covering this.

Friendly, but you need to interact more, repost things etc as you don’t automatically see all the posts of the people you are following.

Lots of new followers in the last few days - 👋🏽 I don’t post much but very into inclusion and SEND. Hate exclusions - we need a better way to meet children’s needs. If they can’t function in an environment then we need a better system to support them not punish them. We can do better.

Send crisis in England risks creating ‘lost generation’ of children Many local authorities facing bankruptcy as government criticised for lack of urgency

We’ve been failing children with SEND, particularly those with Learning Disabilities, for generations. It’s just that we are now failing a greater number so it has become more noticeable and more noticeably expensive. 1/2

To the right is a quote in bold dark purple text: “That’s what’s kept me there… the fact that people are so nice.” The top-left corner reads “Social Connections in the Workplace” in light purple text.
