Lucid Blocks natively supports the capability for blocks to have roughness and metallic mapping, meaning that blocks can have PBR qualities. This is actually a pretty nifty idea that you really don't see a ton of other block games do and while Lucid Blocks keeps the resolution fairly low (block textures are 15x15), it is in service of all the game's various shaders, allowing for really stunning dreamlike landscapes to be created in procedural manner.

there is a block in Lucid Blocks that seems to depict the bubblebear (although interestingly debuted before the bubblebear mob in development showcases) but in yellow. I get to flex some 3d normal mapping and blender knowledge while sort of dipping back into that time I was working on Minecraft mod development with this one, which was fun.

one of the many unique gameplay features in lucid blocks is the tome, which allows you to catalog and draw whatever you want. i just realized you can use the items in your inventory as stamps, so this piece is sort of inspired by that

lucid blocks came out today and I am enjoying playing a game that's like Minecraft with elements of Yume Nikki and LSD Dream Emulator pretty much completely blind- I'm really interested to learn where this might go in depth and the game is just so my shit so far.
