Ah, here's the quote. "S'onewall is determined [to build] a policy and campaigning position on the future of civil partnership that has the support of the widest possible number of lesbian, gay and bisexual people in Britain."
That was in 2010. Plus ça change.
Posts by Weaver
Ben Summerskill, the chairman of S'onewall, literally said in 2010 that his group "had no position on trans people", effectively throwing trans folk to the wolves.
They've always struck me as convenient flag-carriers for Milquetoast Labour, and the latest news is no surprise.
Contestants put on their hunt garb; Prey wear a visible light blue, Predators a harder-to-spot mid-red. They're in a wood-panelled room in the modernistic "headquarters" house.
The Hunt: Prey Versus Predator. Went out on Channel 4 recently.
You didn't watch it. Nobody watched it.
You missed some good tech, lots of Route One social gameplay. And *so many* unforced errors by the producers.
Not sure i can recommend this show, that's how bad it was.

Fuck the Scottish Labour Party and their nasty policies. They don’t deserve a vote.
According to De Morgen: Péter Magyar op weg naar monsteroverwinning.
I think “monsteroverwinning” is my new favourite Dutch word.
A review of "Do You Know Your Place", a BBC2 teatime show from before the clocks changed.
Paul from The Traitors visits tourist attractions and slices of life, and they make a thin quiz around it.
If it works, it's as "Holiday '71" with questions.

This is the courtyard outside The Cursed Child in the West End covered in protest chalk for Trans Day of Visibility. Well done, London. Well done.

4 frame comic. first frame shows a swimmer with a one piece bathing suit. 2nd frame shows an enthusiastic kid with a shirt written waterpolo on it. 3rd shows a man with a shirt that reads "someone I love is trans". 4th frame shows a girl with a trans flag. text reads, across the frames : Being visible or outspoken as a trans person will make you a target of violence and hatred. but it will also show every other trans person that it's possible to exist in their space. visibility empowers and changes heart. I believe in a future in which trans people aren't forced to live in fear, shame and secrecy.

My strip for TDOV.
For the record, here's my entry for #TheTenX5.
All 45 additional Hon. Mentions, and the main 50 recapped.
Reviewing "Handcuffed" with Jonathan Ross.
A fascinating show, showing how it's mostly superficial things that divide people, and how a little tolerance and patience can be helpful.
Told its story well, not fully chronological, but logical and enhancing the tale.

Harry Potter tattoo regret rate is an order of magnitude higher than regret for Gender Reassignment Surgery and yet no one has been brave enough to suggest we legislate Harry Potter tattoos.
An iconic UK bookstore is offering visitors the opportunity to vandalize Harry Potter books for 25 pence. @thebookishtype.bsky.social, the trans-owned bookstore in Leeds running the promotion, will donate all proceeds to gender-affirming healthcare costs. Go support them!
An excellent Day. Support Trans Creators!
That's the main 50. Tricky to pick this last one from three worthy contenders, but Eliza has no other song in contention.
Which other songs just missed? That's for Hon. Mentions: a full list of 45 over the weekend.

"Pack up" - Eliza Doolittle (2010)
Sun's out, chirpy mock-cockney tune's to be sung.
Playful throwback that didn't scare grannies, ebulliant and wonderfully sung.
#TheTenX5 d49
"Rocket" - Goldfrapp (2010)
This could have been on Top of the Pops circa 1982. Alison in a sparkly dress by the light cascades, Will gently noodling away in the background, a few special effects to add the wow factor.

"Na na na" - My Chemical Romance (2010) [NK]
MCR ditched the emo look to become the Mad Max house band after an explosion in a Crayola factory.
Spits out words like pellets from a power-chord-powered paintball pistol.
A few words on "The Summit", ITV's latest attempt to combine amateur mountaineering with social disagreements and a cheap Interceptor knock-off.
There's almost a morality lesson here, but nobody's going to have seen it, because the show was really poor.

"I feed you my love" - Margaret Berger (2013)
Another Eurovision song, Weaver? Er, yeah. But this one might get into the final with just a bit more love.
Sparse electroclash and an absolutely filthy lyric.

The best Euorovision performance ever!
So very special to me because it's about breaking out of post-natal depression.
I understand I'm wasting this bonus but I want everyone in the world to see this. The Grand Final too.

"White noise" - Disclosure ft AlunaGeorge (2013)
Absolutely of the moment; "the moment" was that long cold spell at the beginning of 2013.
Fizzes and crackles with promise, minestrone soup for the frozen soul.
Crept over my threshold for votes yesterday.

Alas! Quintus is not in the dining room, because he is in his bedroom.
There, he listens to a song about the destruction of his city.
The destruction of his city?!
Flee, Quintus! All the way to the final 720!

"Pompeii" - Bastille (2013)
Eheu! Quintus non in tririclinium est, quod in cubiculo sua est.
Ibi, carmen de urbis excidio audit.
Urbis excidio?!
Fugite, Quintus! Ad extremum DCCXX!

Despair from an ending romance, and from (waves hands) all that.
First of seven 10 point noms for songs i think are on the cusp of qualifying.

"Closer" won the Juno for Song of the Year, allowing Tegan and Sara to make this set for the broadcaster.

"Closer" - Tegan and Sara (2012)
The thrill of falling in love, pleasure and pain. Not from the view of the innocent, but with the benefit of experience.
"Closer" means something different to every listener.

"Do you guys realize what this means for country music?.. Our genre was built on simple, good song about real life."
Song of the year at the 2014 Country Music Awards, being co-written by two out gay songwriters.
