My new book, THE GLORY AND THE DREAM: L.M. MONTGOMERY'S WRITING LIFE, doesn't drop for another week. But several independent bookstores already have copies in stock—including Words Worth Books in Waterloo, Ontario!
So grateful to @dundurnpress for making this happen!

I was especially touched by this endorsement from Andrea McKenzie (York University), a long-time Montgomery friend and collaborator: “These delightful, multi-chapter serial stories, originally published in installments in periodicals, offer a new genre and means of exploring Montgomery’s fiction.”
Available now from your favourite bookseller, and till February 15, this book is available at 40% off from the publisher if you use the code UTP125. Books published earlier, including three preceding books in this series, are now 75% off.

Was delighted to see my latest volume of #LMMontgomery's rediscovered periodical writings, SCHOOLED WITH BRIARS: COLLECTED SERIALS, 1903–1939, in an ad for University of Toronto Press in a recent issue of The New York Review of Books!
My next book, THE GLORY AND THE DREAM: L.M. MONTGOMERY’S WRITING LIFE, available next month from Dundurn Press, has been featured on Toronto Metropolitan University’s Alumni Book List ’26 page! www.torontomu.ca/alumni/news-...
It's supposed to be running already. At my end, the prices are reduced once I add the code UTP125 at checkout. Forgot to add the code in my post—that would have been helpful!

Copy of a hardcover book, with dark blue boards and the text "Jane of Lantern Hill / by L.M. Montgomery" in black ink, sitting on what looks like a kitchen counter.
Was thrilled to come across this first edition copy of #LMMontgomery's 1937 novel JANE OF LANTERN HILL yesterday (McClelland and Stewart) at Old Goat Books in Waterloo, Ontario. Certainly warmed me up on a cold winter’s day!

That doesn’t seem likely.
Yes, it was! The illustrator wasn't credited, but this banner appeared alongside the majority of the instalments of Montgomery's column in the Halifax Daily Echo and the Morning Chronicle.
Ever wonder what an author event with #LMMontgomery would have been like? Now’s your chance! #AnneofGreenGables #OntarioIntelligencer #LucyMaudMontgomery #LMMontgomerytheWriter

Two red hardcover books on a table, each consisting of an illustration of a red-headed woman with a 1930s wavy bob.
Currently vacationing in #Reykjavik. Found these two Icelandic translations of two #AnneofGreenGables novels by #LMMontgomery from the 1930s that I'm excited to add to my collection!
A stack of papers with the following text: "The Glory and the Dream: L.M. Montgomery's Writing Life / Benjamin Lefebvre / July 1, 2025 / Dundurn Press." Resting on the stack of papers is a copy of the original edition of Anne's House of Dreams as well as two pens—one black, one red.
Revisions done. Feeling relieved and grateful. So looking forward to this book being out in the world! Forthcoming in February 2026 from @dundurnpress.bsky.social.
You'll find more information about the book, including pre-order links, on my website: lmmonline.org.
In 1913, a newspaper article encouraged families with young people to publish a home magazine, inspired by Our Magazine in #LMMontgomery’s The Golden Road.

Over one hundred years ago, books by #LMMontgomery, beginning with #AnneofGreenGables, received extensive coverage in the London Spectator—despite the fact that its reviewer advised her publicly not to write a second book about Anne.

On this day in 1911, three years after the publication of #AnneofGreenGables, #LMMontgomery married Ewan Macdonald in Park Corner, PEI, a day she wrote about at length in her journal. But as frank as that journal entry seemed, it didn't tell the whole story. lmmonline.org/a-life-and-i...
Thanks so much for reposting, @sarahemsley.bsky.social!
#Onthisday in 2018, I wrote about #LMMontgomery receiving her first copy of #AnneofGreenGables, which had happened, also #onthisday, in 1908.

In 1931, #LMMontgomery acted as a judge for a young people’s writing contest run by the Toronto GLOBE (before it amalgamated with the Mail and Empire to become @theglobeandmail.com). Find out what criteria she used to evaluate the submissions and what advice she gave aspiring writers!
Happy to share that the new #LMMontgomery Online website is live. It includes the latest news about publications, events, and adaptations—including the next volume in The L.M. Montgomery Library!
