Our child's academy school makes extensive use of apps to timetable, schedule appointments and manage homework. They also have very good rules limiting when phones are used so let's just leave it with the schools to run their school and keep government out of it.

That's one school though - imagine schools in areas with poor public transport and/or dangerous streets. They might prefer the flexibility to let kids have phones so they can call home to get lifts. Some schools also use a lot of apps to help kids. Leave it with the schools to judge.

Starmer's an idiot but this is a Tory distraction from the news that we are back at #5 in world economies ... if the media are harping on about a non-story then just look for what they want to cover up
Odd that the BBC and other mass media aren't reporting on it ... I'm sure Laura K will be leading on it in her articles ...
When he appointed him I thought "Hmm, odd choice but maybe he knows more than I do?" ... as it turns out, no, he didn't
Nice fly :) Muscidae of some kind
That's superb work - you've caught their on-screen characters perfectly
Trump sees himself as a king so all this does is reaffirm that and boost his ego by thinking that "other" kings will come when he calls
... and no surprise that they end up hating each other and their parties fragment and are riven with incompetence
Hmm, yeah I've never thought "You know, today I'll take the car because it's just sexier than the train" ... do these people actually get paid to write rubbish like that?! lol
... regardless of whether it's true or not ... (it usually isn't)
We've got a few woodlands around us here that are usually that good if the year isn't too dry - still gorgeous to see - must head out and look at ours :)
Same here in Reading ... one Heb-Char and (more oddly) a white-lipped snail (Cepaea hortensis)!
True, yes - these words have persisted quite commonly in many places
Yes, though the Thames Valley was supposedto just go down to 7c, I think, but it was breezy
Very nice - I just went out to check my trap and it had 1 Hebrew Character and a Cepaea hortensis :D Oh well ...
I think they will spread by seed if the dward is kept short enough and not over grazed by rabbits
Very nice - where roughly was that? Wondering if I should get the trap out tonight lol
Been seeing quite a lot of these on Reddit recently and when they are based in the UK I'm giving them your recording scheme webpage :)
You know we've reached a bad point when Marjorie Taylor Greene says he's mad
Yup - Holly Blue today, male Orange Tip yesterday :)
Looks like a moth cocoon to me
Oh well, there’s our theory dashed :) needs more testing perhaps
Maybe that’s their preferred habitat?! 🤣😂
The dems are amateurs at this kind of game
Water Carpet?
Brindled Beauty
Pale Pinion
On the previous night in West Dorset we got (Water Carpet?) high on a wall, Pale Pinion and a nice fresh Brindled Beauty. Lovely to see good numbers of moths even with the cold nights.

Just a few moths in West Dorset last night but was happy to see the Early Tooth-striped, March Moth and Streamer. #teammoth #ukmoths
One of my favourite flowering plants - vividly remember finding the yellow and red forms under Cistus many years ago. Would have been either Minorca or Greece.
