I don't think I'll be logging what I watch/read here in 2026. Will still be around, mostly reading and liking posts, but I'm trying to do less social media.

Canadian content I watched this year is all on home renovation, though I didn’t post them on my TV thread. Memoir of a Snail and Arcane are the only animation work on this list, the others are all live action. 10/10

UK: Watched 7 films and 25 TV seasons. Very apparent I watch a lot of British crime shows, haha. I didn’t expand A Discovery of Witches as the rating is the same across all three seasons. Downton Abbey and Sherlock are mostly rewatches, everything else is first watch. 9/10

USA: Watched 45 TV seasons, with Andor season 2 getting perfect 10 from me. Dropped WeCrashed (after ep 5) and Extreme Home Makeover 2025 (after Ep 6). Dream Productions and Creature Commandos are the only animations on the TV list. 8/10

USA: Watched 47 films, with Spider-Verse animation getting perfect 10 from me. I count 7 animated films in total, Muppet Treasure Island I marked as Puppets, everything else is Live Action. Star Trek: Section 31 was a total disappointment. 7/10

Japan: watched mostly #anime, with the exception of Marry My Husband, a #jdrama. Dropped Coffee & Vanilla drama (after 0.5 eps) and We Never Learn anime (after 3 eps). Other Asian film/dramas watched are from China, Taiwan, and Thailand. 6/10

Watched 43 South Korean TV seasons, including 3 dropped ones: Backstreet Rookie (after 1.5 eps), Big Mouth (3 eps), and When the Stars Gossip (after 12 eps). True Beauty is an animated series, not technically a #kdrama. 5/10

Watched 29 South Korea films in 2025: with The Dude in Me and Kim Ji Young: Born in 1982 being my faves. I couldn’t finish 12:12 The Day even though it’s highly rated/ critically acclaimed. 4/10

Also, I apologize for not putting in alt text for these images. It’s a bit hard to do with tables. I’ll start off with Asian film/dramas, then non-Asian or Western films/TV series. I count TV series by seasons: 1 season = 1 count. 3/10

I try to rate objectively, but usually emotions/ moods rule. Also, I have a bias I’m trying to get over: which is that I am more lenient with unsympathetic lead male characters versus unsympathetic lead female characters. I have to consciously switch the genders in my head to realize that. 2/10

2025 TV and Film year in review. You will see screen caps of my pivot tables, haha. I log stuff I watched on Excel, even though I log them on other platforms too (MDL, IMDB, TheMovieDB). I’m rather generous with ratings, as everything starts out 10, and I just deduct points. 1/10

TV#131. #StrangerThings S5 (2025)

Loved this last season a lot. We get closure – completed character arcs, questions about the upside down answered, new friendships formed, and old friendship bonds strengthened. That final boss fight was awesome. 9.5/10 #TVSky

Book#57. Up in Smoke by Ross Pennie (2013)

This book is the 3rd one in the Dr. Zol Szabo series. This medical mystery is so interesting and takes us into Ontario’s cigarette industry and shows tensions with the indigenous peoples’ tobacco trade. #Booksky

TV#130. #OurUnwrittenSeoul (2025)

What a lovely series. I'm glad this is the last #kdrama I watched this year as it ends on a hopeful note, with a potential happy future stretching ahead for our characters. #ParkBoYoung has come a long way since I first saw her in Oh My Ghost. 9.5/10 #TVSky

Book#56. If It Bleeds by Stephen King (2020) | Read by Will Patton, Danny Burstein, & Steve Weber

I own the ebook but borrowed the audiobook from the library. Two of the four stories in this book have been made into movies that I’ve yet to watch. All four are wonderful reads. Love Holly. #Booksky

TV#129. Miss S (2020)

This #Cdrama is the very definition of a cozy mystery series. The cases of the week aren’t really anything special but they’re interesting. Love the soundtrack and the costumes too. Glad I caught this before it leaves CBC Gem at the end of the month. 7.5/10 #TVSky

Book#55. The Haunting of Paynes Hollow by Kelley Armstrong (2025)

This horror novel has a strong gothic atmosphere. I quite liked how it uses a well-known legend as a jumping off point. There were certain characters I wish hadn’t died but overall I loved how the story wrapped up. #Booksky

TV#128. My Secret Romance (2017)

Rewatch. Still enjoyable many years later but seeing some red flags re the CEO lording it over his subordinate. Yoo Mi’s reticence irritates me more now too, but then this series is all about her overcoming that. I actually like her mom, haha. 8/10 #TVSky #Kdrama

Okay finished Ep 5 but has to pause this now because my watching companion has to do something else. Will probably finish the last two eps tomorrow. Back to my kdrama...

Film#101. Love 911 (2012)

Two souls who are traumatized from making bad decisions in life-saving professions meet and fall in love. Can be a bit cheesy, and I like the supporting character dynamics more than the main one, but still worth a watch. 7.5/10 #Filmsky

TV#127. The Killer’s Shopping List (2022)

This #kdrama was a surprisingly good watch; I loved the touch of diversity and the dynamics between different characters. The male lead needs to hone his acting skills a bit more, but otherwise, this was a nice cozy murder mystery. 7.5/10 #TVSky

Film#100. A Whisker Away (2020)

I adore this #anime. Beautiful hand drawn backgrounds, slice-of-life elements, and a lovely story. Very sweet and charming. This film animates the mannerisms of people and cats so well too. 9/10 #Filmsky
