Our Observation of the Day is this flowering Napoleonaea vogelii plant, seen in Liberia by careljongkind!

This species is in the Lecythidaceae family, which also includes the Brazil nut (Bertholletia excelsa).

Our Observation of the Day is this flowering plant in the genus Eurya (柃木属 in Chinese (simplified)), seen in China by threegee!

This genus belongs to the family Ericales, which contains plants such as heathers, camellias, and ocotillos.
