It's Autism Acceptance Month, and this week I just announced a 2nd book in my cozy mystery series following an autistic woman (like me) who has a passion for cheese (like me). The 1st book is Cheddar Luck Next Time, & the sequel is Brie My Valentine!

A full disc image of Earth, as seen from the Orion Crew Module. The planet is a pale blue, swirling with white clouds and glowing slightly lighter blue in place from reflected light. At lower left, a large brown landmass is Africa, with Spain and Portugal with twinkling lights where the planet curves. At top right, auroras glow in a thin green glow, just barely separated from the planet's surface. Earth is set against the black of space (pic: NASA/R.Wiseman)
More context on this #Artemis II image:
* This is the night side, lit by moonlight. You can see city lights in Spain & Portugal, & a sliver of day at lower right
* The Sun is entirely behind Earth, which makes it a kind of solar eclipse, but w/ Earth doing the eclipsing instead of the Moon:

Wrote the next chapter last night, introducing one of this book's new characters.
That was fun.
Then emailed about an upcoming anthology and an upcoming con.
Re-checked some details on a cover.
Happy Easter to those who celebrate it!
Happy Pesach to those of us in Matzoh Week!
NEXT UP! Live video podcast with #gamers and genre #authors AARON ROSENBERG, CARLOS HERNANDEZ, and JERI SHEPHERD to discuss #RPGs and TIE-IN FICTION! @gryphonrose.bsky.social Wed, April 8, 2026 @ 8pm Eastern - Register today - free! shorturl.at/LkSCN
Just found out today is International Fact-Checking Day.
It really should be April 1st, but if there was ever a day to buy your librarian a drink I suppose the day after would make more sense. :)
Rumors of his demise have been greatly exaggerated
Wishing a happy Passover to all who observe.
Wrote the next chapter last night.
Also conferred with my editor and publisher a bit, which was good.
Checked on panels for upcoming conventions.
Checked on and confirmed some details for a cover.
Messaged about a few other things.
Enjoyed homemade matzo ball soup.
To all my friends who are skeptical about what they read online today, I beg you to apply that same skepticism to what you read online EVERY day!
Wrote the first full chapter on the new book last night. Starting off slow but it'll pick up speed fast. Emailed about an upcoming anthology and started thinking about a story for it. The hustle is real. #AuthorLife #AmWriting #wordsmith
Never forget the vast majority of authors whose works were stolen, including myself, received nothing in the settlement. The settlement's not even a slap on the wrist for Anthropic.
A bunch of lawyers got rich, some authors received token money, and AI companies keep doing what they do. SMDH 3/
That most recent story I wrote? It's for this steampunk anthology, Southwatch Stories. Check out the Kickstarter to learn more, including the excellent group of participating authors! 💙📚 #AuthorLife #Kickstarter

Some amount of TTRPG writing is "creative writing." Some amount of TTRPG writing is "technical writing." The proportions vary by project, but TTRPG writers have to both convince players of the wonder of their worlds and also show how those worlds work.
Our trans siblings aren't just under attack, they're also losing work, housing, healthcare and safe spaces to exist. Say their name in rooms they cannot enter. Fight for them in ways big and small. Continue to show up when it's not a glorified internet meme.
Exciting news! After six years of only being available as an e-book, Crossroad Press has now reprinted my novella CHASING THE DRAGON in a new paperback edition! Shirley Jackson Award Finalist! Thriller Award Finalist! Pick it up today!
The new book has begun! Woo-hoo!
Right now it's looking like it will take me 7 weeks to finish. Which is perfectly within my stated deadline. Whew!

All people have a right to exist in the identity that fits them best. We all deserve autonomy over our own bodies and identities. Trans rights are human rights.
One of the best parts of writing, at least for me, is when you have a basic concept, start researching, find some random detail, and suddenly everything clicks into place. I love that, it's what takes me from "this should be fun" to "I can't wait to write this!" #Writing

It seemed like a reasonable question, given the circumstances. :)
Time for my Year-End Writing Tally!
In 2025 I wrote a total of 368,00 words:
4 novels, 2 novellas, 7 short stories, 3 magazine articles.
That makes 2025 my 3rd best writing year ever.
So far for 2026 I have 1 trilogy, 2 novellas, & 3 short stories. We'll see what else turns up. 🙂
Onward!
