Happy Earth Day! 🌎🌍🌏🌎🌍🌏
Dark, heavily mottled pitcher with a lightly striped lip.
#Nepenthes spectabilis sure is spectacular!

Dainty white flowers with yellow anthers at the end of long, slender filaments.
Six-petaled white flowers with single green ovaries and long styles.
My Spider Plants (Chlorophytum comosum) were a bit pot-bound (maybe more than a bit pot-bound), so I started a few plantlets last fall. The babies are already flowering and producing more spiderettes!

Dark red orchid flower with narrow petals and a spotted white lip.
This orchid has been in my possession since 2021. I changed the growing medium from a bark mix to LECA (expanded clay) several years ago, and it has taken well to the new inorganic substrate. The best part about growing Maxillaria tenuifolia is that the flowers smell like coconut! 🥥 #bloomscrolling

Do not lose hope. This fight is not over. We should all be so proud of the coalition we built to fight this. Tribal Nations. Outdoorsmen. Conservationists. Public lands advocates. But most importantly, Minnesotans who deeply appreciate what these waters mean to us and our shared obligation to safeguard them for our kids, our grandkids, and every generation thereafter.
One day, the shoe will be on the other foot, and they will regret what they did to the Boundary Waters today — because this was a mistake. They've set a new precedent that no public lands are ever truly sate, including those in Montana. Utah. The Dakotas. Idaho. Republicans privately told me they knew this is wrong, and I wish they had voted their conscience. Tonight, we take a much-needed rest. Tomorrow, we figure out what comes next. -Tina
Save the Boundary Waters
Do not lose hope.
A fallen tree covered in numerous fungal fruiting bodies.
225,000 ACRES OF PUBLIC LANDS AT RISK. Senate votes tomorrow on HJR 140. It would strip protections from the Boundary Waters watershed and open the door to toxic sulfide mining near one of the most protected wilderness areas in the country. Call your Senators: 202-224-3121

The deep maroon stems of Red-osier Dogwood catch the early afternoon light, producing an almost metallic luster.
A thick tree trunk with moss cascading down its side.
A fallen birch covered in moss. Curls of bark poke through the moss here and there.
A small clump of moss amongst fallen leaves on the forest floor. Numerous sporophytes catch the early afternoon light.
One of the most alarming things the Trump Administration is doing right now is flying under the radar. I have the details on Trump’s efforts to hide his corruption by eliminating the Presidential Records Act. Please watch and share. youtube.com/shorts/EGt5z...
"There are certainly issues of international law here, but even more so a moral issue for the good of the whole, entire population," the pope said in Italian to reporters outside his residence in Castel Gandolfo, Italy. https://to.pbs.org/47KYafb
